Sephiroth Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'm not aware of any political body/force that > doesn't have some degree of dysfunctionality? > Happy to be corrected on that one Sigh....perhaps this one you can just acquiesce on given you're basically agreeing it shows dysfunctionality? Further, many remainers admitted at the time (and since), that teh EU was 'not perfect'....but on balance their preference was to work on changing it from within. For other's they might have chosen to cut and run - neither is an unreasonable position. Not every point needs to be a battle....

Well.....I mentioned it at the time, but then again, I don't get my news from the Daily Mail or Facebook...i'd advise you branch out a little KK.....

I agree that its certainly not 'because' of brexit.... But it it does seem reflective of some level of dysfuntionality within the European Union as a political body/force....which may have been a factor in some people's decision to vote leave.....

Can we call this German "Exceptionalism"? I've read that exceptionalism is apparently a very bad thing in the context of the United Kingdom (or even just England mostly)...so im sure the'll be plenty of folk along in a minute to berate the Germans....

Ha!....not all of my EDF posts are serious/political:)

Its only a 2min clip Malumbu. In anycase, I've sen him a number of times at different sized venue, and I had thought his 'Out Out' routine/joke was a very well known joke (even for those who havent seen him live), and I thought it a mildly amusing reference in the context of all of us not currently able to to leave the house ....but clearly I was wrong and my reference fell flat...and now that I've had to explain it, its not really a amusing at all is it!! In anycase, watch the clip and you're see what im talking about. My apols to Mickey for f#cking up his joke:)

Make sure you check your mirrors while you're reversing....

Here's a good one to illustrate the revisionism.... I guess we'll need to invest in greater prison capacity to house 17m when we're prosecuted.....prosecuted for what I'm not quite sure....but something bad by the sounds of it.... Remind me of the timeline for 'everything to turn to shit'? That also needs to be factored in to this conversation. From my perspective. I've said 10 years. That should give us an idea whether the additional flexibility in policy has been useful or not. From the remainer perspective, will it take 'sunny uplands' for you to concede? Or will a lack of foretold doom be sufficient?
-
Just to add though KK..you mention 'in coming months' The success or otherwise will not be judged in months, but only in tens of years. I have always maintained that there may be transition issues in the short term - I believe people call it 'friction'. So to be clear, no I will not put my hand up after 3-4 months. But let's chat in 10 years and one of us will put our hand up....
-
If 'it turns to shit' I will indeed put my hand up. If it doesn't. Will you?

I'll give you pestilence, but nothing to do with brexit unfort. Anyway....this can continue on the brexit thread. We've hijacked the Trump thread enough.

Revisionism in action.

Keep doom mongering with complete certainty that it's not possible that you might be inaccurate. Finally we have left and I imagine you have mountains of evidence to back up your apocalyptic expectations......

I can't be bothered searching for the comment when you labelled all leavers as having blood on their hands....but I do remember UT for its sheer hyperbole:).....it was a few years ago...I did have a quick search....and saw this one.... 1) we leave the EU - with or without a deal. It will be either hideous or so hideous as to be untenable. Seems pretty tenable to me.... In other news...Thanks for th birthday thread:)
-
It's far from the 'only' explanation...... For example, the cat may have had a birthday yesterday, and may have been hammered, and may have been in reflective mood.... But who knows....:)

I can see no better evidence of the bias of this forum, than me talking about brexit on this thread. And even though it was in response to another comment raising brexit....at least 2 posters have suggested I am "flogging dead horse.....but didnt mention anything who the subject was first raised.......I guess that's okay as it agrees with you pre'existibg views......

Don?t know > why anyone?s surprised. Ha.........brilliant......because I have a different view to the majority on here it gets flagged as troublesome ........or at least notable enough to warrant a dedicated post.... I do feel better though, thanks. We have left the EU and nothing has spontaneously combusted...... Another poster brought up brexit in this thread. But I guess becuase I think differently to you on this issue it's easier to just label me as being gratuitous with my position.....

Is Mickey Flanagan's career over...because no one understand what out out means anymore....

The water is lovely. I remember u telling me that I would kill people....this is before Covid or no deal. Just becuase of a brexit that you didn't understand......

There weren't bajllions. That is a made up number. But I guess only remainers can make up numbers......thanks

Seabag Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > ThatCat just won?t leave it alone > > Me me me meooow! Have another look Seabag, I wasn't the one to raise Brexit and shoehorn it into this thread. I thought we were just all raising contrived and tenuous links between trump and brexit, so just wanted to join in with the cool kids.

malumbu Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Not sure how this thread got onto American beer. Well it's obviously becuase people were lied to by a sign on a bus which said we would get 350m quid worth of beer a week from Trump. And no one knew what type of Trump they were voting for, so they decided to all eat chlorinated chicken with their beer. But the chickens all turned out to be rascist chickens, and the colour of the boxes the beer came in was red, when everyone who voted really wanted blue boxes of beer. FInally everyone had had too much beer (including Trump) and it was decided that people that didn't drink beer were a total bunch of covfefe's..... Of course that decision was only advisory....so ignore all of that....

Nigel Farage also likes to drink beer I beleive. Therefore all people who drink beer must also support Trump.
