  1. Yeah, well I know she's written back to someone else locally on this issue in a few days... Maybe my letter just fell behind the filing cabinet? :-/ There is definitely a postbag on this one; and I think a major issue is the complacency of MPs on the issue (kind of "oh I don't like measures xyz, and (so?) it probably won't get through). Many don't seem to realise that by this stage it's a done deal as far as MPs are concerned. But then Tessa is not just an MP right, so her loyalties perhaps don't lie with her constituents?? (but rather with the BPI, IFPI and all their works) Did anyone mention lobbying? ;-)
  2. A week on, still waiting for any kind of *human* response from Tessa Jowell's office regarding an email that I sent a week ago. Given that the subject matter is very much 'time is of the essence' (the Digital Economy Bill, with Harriet Harman likely to make an announcement this Thursday on arrangements for rushing this Bill through in an undemocratic way without any proper debate; and with contentious issues likely to be included in the 'wash up'), this is not what I expect from my MP. Am I expecting too much? Or perhaps Tessa just doesn't care any more?? (there's a few of those around, the ones that are leaving)
  3. The 68 bus is a good option if you have luggage, as the bus leaves from Euston station itself (and the changeover stops at Camberwell Green are next to each other). 68 is also pretty regular/reliable.
  4. Whereabouts are they?
  5. The Light Programme
  6. Open to suggestions as to routes and pit-stops/places of interest...
  7. Excellent work Tom. It really is a splendid map.

    Ask Admin

Dear Admin Would it make sense to move Tour de Dulwich from Lounge to General ED issues? It's exclusively about ED. Sorry, I messed up there.
  9. PG, while I may have attended a Hawkwind gig in my teen-yoof (Friars Aylesbury, mid-70s), I have no intention of taking on the mantle of Stacia!

I propose we award a jersey called "spotted dick"
  11. PS I only found out this week that Hawkwind's Silver Machine was about riding a silver-coloured bicycle!
  12. You are right Narnia. My bad! Also allowed: any bikes with wheeled attachments for conveyance of small people. I'm also minded to permit 4-wheeled unmotorised thingies drawn along by person-power alone.
  13. Must you?
  14. King of the Sarf London Mountains not good enough for you :-S
  15. Okay, let's draw up some rules here. 1. You must have a two-wheeled, non-motorised mode of transport. Your transport may not include a trolley or other beer conveyance. The judge's decision will be final. 2. You may if you wish fill your water bottles with beer. If you have any water bottles. But otherwise you can do as you wish. 3. You may not crash into another participant or otherwise sabotage him or her. Or you will have to drink another round before setting off again. The judge's decision will be final. I think that covers it.
  16. And as with the propa Tour, like, each year we shall visit a little corner of a neighbouring territory. So which shall it be this year? Peckham Village? Poets' Corner? New Cross Vallee?
  17. If you have a spare 250 squid floating around for registration, I'm sure I can manage that.
  18. But I did fail to put it in the right category, eh?
  19. Woof, do you have a bike? Does it have 2 functioning wheels? I'm thinking something fun and drunken...
  20. Hmm, perhaps I should have put this in main ED section? silly me.
  21. There will be just the one challenging climb, which is optional. This will be the Dulwich Duckpond to the Palace Transmitter via College Road. The winner will be crowned King of the Sarf London Mountains.
  22. On a date yet to be announced, Dulwich will play host to a brand new Tour de Dulwich. This road ramble will require participants to take part on an unmotorised 2-wheel vehicle of any size or shape. The route of the Tour de Dulwich will take in local hotspots and notspots, including excellent local hostelries.
  23. Has anyone considering starting a Tour de Dulwich?
  24. I think the Relaxed Ramble should also have a beer pit stop half way down :) with some nice comfy chairs. In fact, we could bring along chairs and watch it all go by, Tour de France style. Let us know the date as soon as... so can keep the diary clear.
