I think SMG the degree of defensiveness; especially from my part, was due to the fact that I knew I would have had whatever I said shot down/dragged over the analysing coals from the get go. I put out threads and replied in a defensive way largely due to the fact that I realised I wasn't going to get a very equally matched debate. You realised it too, hence your comment yesterday about being 'ganged up on'. If others like Monica and Citizen Ed had been in with me from the start I think the tone of my threads especially would have been very different. I fought my corner and yes, was openly defensive. I tried not to be, but it seemed like some had a bug bear they needed to vent on me personally, hence my reaction.

Monica and Citizen Ed, nice to have your thoughts on this previously one-sided thread. Yes, it is/was being dominated heavily by male middle-classes theorists who were trying to brand me as some sort of threat to their intelligence. It became hard work. 'Prove yourself' some demanded, 'Admit you were wrong' others prompted. I got an apology from some and a hug from another so all is well in the MW camp.

I appologise about my debating skills. I never went to any debating clubs at college. Alot of people on here go round in circles and try to amaze with their use of the English language, which quite frankly at the end of the day, means bugger all. Hot under the collar? I've already been down this route with another forumite (you know I know who you are!) I have said some things on here that have been deliberatly contentious to see what reactions I would get. That's allowed isn't it?

In my mind, MY mind, skeptics can only discover the truth through experience. That is the way I personally see it. Therefore Mark, it is not on for you to tell me I 'am wrong' and try to get me to make some admission of such on this forum. The part about magic and that it holds back mankind and progress, is your point of view. Hypnotherpay however can be seen as a form a magic, can't it? When people start throwing in quotes from theoriests it gets a little too much. I'm loosing the will to live with this now.

I suggest that you receive some Reiki, and then I suggest that you pop down to your local friendly scientology church, attending a 'meeting' and see the difference for yourself. Skeptics can only discover the truth by experience. Experience them both and then come back on this forum and tell us what you observed. Reiki comes form the energy in the atmosphere that we all are linked to. Everything has an energy. Reiki uses that energy. Scientology comes from aliens....

Please do not link Scientology boys, to Reiki. Reiki is done alone. We do not need churches to do it. Scientology is not a medical practice. Reiki practitioners are often members of the C.M.A. they are qualified and recognised by law, they are also insured to practice. The law should erradicate Scientology.

I can asure you, it is not in any way shape or form, anything to do with Scientology. Reiki is not a 'cult'. Scientology is.

Reiki levels 1 and 2 can be learnt in a weekend, that's true. But you have to be 'open' to it in the first place. It's not like doing a plumbing course. Not everyone can be a Reiki practitioner. And to be a Reiki Master you have to have had practised for many years. It took me 2 years to reach the stage at being 'able' to take the attunement for Reiki. You have to address lots of issues and theories if life first, before you learn to practice. I'm sure the likes of Capt_Birdseye (closet banker) will have something to say about this, which I'm not going to allow me to upset or hot under the collar about. shoot me down in a hail of bullets..................
