  1. I was in the Herne last night (had a meal) it was very very good. Anyway... Whilst manoevering my way through the builders that gather in the Herne come 4pm, I overheard one of them saying that the Forest 'ill was opening back up soon, and that they were glad to be going back up there. So I don't think it will be like the Rye Hotel or anything. I would say it's still going to be a local boozer.
  2. What big old empty building on LL?.............a long time ago I used to work for ES Physical.........
  3. That's right! I can either get the 7.32am or the 7.59am from Peckham Rye..........nowt in between. Why? I'm either way to early or way too late. Blast.
  4. there are loads!!!!! of physio's in ED already. Can't move for 'em.
  5. on the pavement outside Iceland is a good spot....oh sorry you don't mean street drinking do you? Um...it's not ED but The Mansion at the bottom of Gypsy Hill has a very large beer garden.
  6. I can't believe I posted a picture of a squirrel eating toast. I need to be put away!
  7. Stop it Mark!! you nasty boy. I bet you picked the wings off daddy long legs when you were small, didn't you!!!!and poured vinegar on slugs.....??!! Here is a picture of a squirrel I found having breakfast in my garden the other day.... amd yes... it is toast!...It may not come out.....pic may be too big...
  8. Why don't you all get on the wait list for Jags, by North Dulwich station.I waited for a short while. It beats wading through plasters and floating poo....I think I'm going to be sick...There are alot of pools in the area. Some are private. You just have to know where to look for them...say no more
  9. ...and just to set the record straight, Syril is a red squirrel. He baulks at the greys. They took over his land. He Dispises them. ....................arggggghhhh it's only Tuesday................
  10. I agree Nero. Me loves foxes and squirrels (How dare you call them tree rats. I have a pet squirrel at home called 'Syril' and he would be thoroughly offended by your base remark) Madworld74 that's me....
  11. Don't get me started on squirrels. If it wasn't for the fact they all seem to be on crack, there wouldn't be such an bad feeling against them. They are lovely. Squirrel Nutkin, MC Nuts?.....come on where's the love.....boys and girls....
  12. The 'mighty vegetarians'....???? it is just vegetarians that care about animals then?
  13. The foxes were there first before we are our houses moved in. Live with them and leave them alone.
  14. The Herne. Hmmmm...they run out of food every early on in the day, infact you have to pre book your food otherwise you can forget it. The last time I was in, there was a riot taking place in the telly tubby style garden and a fair few pi**ed up parents trying to keep their little darlings under controll. Not the best places to chill out.
  15. I don't think clarence comes round my way. Probably not posh enough for him to prance about. We're over run with cats but this was something else. I mean it really gets on my t*&s! It's almost like the owner plans it...'come on Rover, that's it, just here, bit to the left, line it up with their front path, Bingo! Fire!'
  16. WHY? do we have the yellow spray painted 'don't let your dog foul here' signs on the pavement, but the other day I come out of my front door to be greated to a great big pile of steaming poo!!!??? Blasted muts.
  17. I went in there once to by a pencil. They wrapped it for me. The guy was very annoyed I had only spent 42p.
  18. Isn't there a greasy spoon up by AJ Farmer. We don't need another Wimpey. What's the most useless shop i LL? That you go into and say 'oohh look at the pretty things...' and then look at the price tag and leave. I would kick off with that new kithen shop down by EDT. How much for a blue plastic fish slice???!!
  19. Lets turn Iceland into Bejam. Does anyone rememember Bejam??!!! ohmigod my mother used to drag me round on a Saturday afternoon.....I used to live in Brighton, so maybe no Bejam rememberers here!!!!
  20. What's happening to The Forest Hill Tavern? it's being 'done up'. Will it still be a local boozer for the local boozers, or will other ED types (like myself who's a bit put off by St George's x's hung up in pub windows) be allowed in?....
  21. What about the Victorian swimming baths opposite Goose Green?.....actually there is a massive glass/wood thing on the top of the hill opposite Peckham Rye Park on Nunhead Lane? that's very Grand Designs thank you Kevin...
  22. When I was chatting about The Florence opening soon, I also asked the guy in The Bishop why they had to have two bouncer/doormen on a Friday night. I never usually go to the Bishop apart from a Sunday afternoon (for fear of the braying types) and was a bit shocked to see these two mean faced chaps dressed all in black on 'the door'. Apparantly the Bishop can get quite rough of a Friday night. Is this true? We were thinking of taking visiting friends there on a Friday, but now not so sure....
  23. Hello All, I was in the above drinking establishment yesterday (hence the sore head today!) and was told that the owner of The Bishop has bought up the Irish pub opposite Brockwell Lido, and is doing it up and it will soon be open. The new bar will be called The Florence. Good news?
  24. I always smile when a fellow runner flounces past. But usually I get the look of horror indicating that I must either be new in the area to dare even LOOK at a fellow runner, or that I must be a novice and generally sh*t at running. Hmmmmm?
  25. Me? Messiah...yes yes, I think one could get quite used to that title. I wonder if it'll work in Sommerfields when I proclaim my status to All, whilst demanding the express check outs be opened! Messiah's do not stand in line!..I'll have'em know..
