Sue My point being that if you experience something that could potentially be sorted by a GP, you might feel it necessary to go to A&E, which would be clogged up due to the doctors strike. Just my opinion, but I don't really see that its necessary to close a surgery for half a day for staff training.

Police Officers aren't permitted to strike, so why are all the other emergency services allowed to?

Looks like the diversion will continue over the weekend

That was a water leak

Indeed. I was shopping in Peckham yesterday with my husband. Got there ok on the P13, but on boarding the bus coming home, the driver received a phone call telling him about the diversion. No prior warning at all and I found out later that the works were planned, not emergency, so no excuse. Ended up having to walk most of the way home with a shopping trolley and heavy bags - both of us in our 70s and I have recently had major surgery on my leg! Ended up in tears by the time I got home!!!! No point complaining to TFL, they send standard responses. Can't hear any work going on this morning, so don't expect the diversion to end before the weekend! Happy Xmas shopping folks!

P13 is on diversion between Primark, Peckham and Sainsburys, Dog Kennel Hill via Peckham Rye, both directions, due to road works on Avondale Rise railway bridge. Avondale Rise is completely closed to traffic between Coplestone Road and Ivanhoe Road.

Showers are still cold today. When I asked at Reception, I was told that one of the boilers was now repaired and they were just waiting for the water to warm up! The pool was pretty cold today as well, Still a load of grit /dirt on the bottom, seems to be getting worse. -

They get one thing running and another goes down! -
If you mean the one outside the church going towards Peckham, it still had the closed sign on it this morning, but as there are no road works there, I'm sure some of the drivers will stop there on request. The stop outside the chippy coming from Peckham is closed as there are road works in front of it. The 4 way traffic lights are in operation.., causing a lot of congestion.

Still a large patch of grit clearly visible in the middle of the pool yesterday (Tuesday). On the plus side - the water was a lot warmer!

When I receive my new quote, if it is higher than last year, I ring the company and ask if they can review it. In the last couple of years, they have lowered the quote, although still a bit higher than the previous year. May be worth a try -
We went the day after it reopened and there was a lot of grit on the steps into to pool. The water was lovely and warm, but a few days later it was really cold!
