  3. I found a Freedom Pass for J Barker by the bus stop at the top of Avondale Rise yesterday. If anyone knows J Barker, please message me so that I can return it. Thank you
  4. My husband had his booster there a couple of weeks ago
  5. Went to the Oval last week for a cricket match. The website states the ground is cashless, so we thought no need to take much money with us. When we got there, we went in the club shop and selected some shirts for the grandchildren. After queuing for an age, we were advised that 'the wi-fi was down' so they couldn't take card payments. We were then told we could pay cash, but only if we had the exact amount as they (obviously) had no change! We only had enough cash to pay for about half of our selection, so had to leave some. Then went to the food concourse only to find most of the outlets had stopped trading as they couldn't take cards and were unwilling /unable to take cash! Also worth mentioning, that while we were in the club shop, there were several youngsters on a school trip who obviously had a few pounds pocket money to spend, but (before the tills stopped working) had to leave the shop empty handed as they couldn't spend their cash! So cashless not always a good thing!

  9. Alex TLC in Peckham are pretty quick at home collection. 020 7701 4388
  10. We got some lemon puffs on one of our 'lockdown' walks last year in the small paper/general store just past Goose Green going towards Peckham Rye.
  11. I would endorse the above recommendation. The shop is called New Pollards. The lady is really nice. Recently made me a complete set of net curtains in several sizes, including jardiniers. All a perfect fit.
  12. Poppies were on sale on the Customer Service counter in Sainsburys DKH yesterday
  13. Sainsburys customer service dept is in South Africa! I've had problems getting a refund for undelivered goods when I pay with an e gift card. They don't seem to understand the system.
  14. Dulwich Village Preschool does half days. My grand-daughter went there (she is 13 now) and loved it
  15. Husband received a text message last week from GSTT to book a 3rd jab as opposed to a booster. He has recently had a long course of radiotherapy at Guys. He went this morning to the walk in at Guys and had Pfizer - he had Astra Zeneca for first 2. He was advised he should have a booster in 6 months.
  16. My son's mother in law had Astra Zeneca for first 2 jabs with no side effects. She had Pfizer booster yesterday and today has a very puffy face and feels flushed. Apparently, this is a known side effect.
  17. Alex TLC in Peckham will collect - 020 7701 4388
  18. Richard Tudor - yes, I understand that its not running its original route. About 6 months after the route changed, this was showing on the bus apps ie. via Harris Academy, but this changed back again about 3 weeks ago, leading me to believe that the route was changing via Rye Lane again, but as yet it hasn't.
  19. What date is Rye Lane reopening to buses? Bus apps have been showing the P13 running along its original route via Rye Lane, for several weeks now, resulting in the bus 'disappearing' between Peckham bus station and Avondale Rise.
  20. Our practice - Camberwell Green - you have to phone between 8-10am. The receptionist will ask why you are calling and will then book a call back from a GP/nurse, who will again ask why you are calling and if they deem it necessary will book a face to face appointment with a GP/nurse. If they don't deem it necessary to see you (which they usually don't), they will deal with you over the phone. If you have a visual ailment, they will ask you to send a photo and diagnose from that. Since the first lockdown, when they locked their doors to walk in visitors and didn't open them until a couple of months ago, I have not once been offered a face to face consult. I have been with the same practice for over 50 years and have seen it deteriorate from a family doctors to a poor excuse for a GP practice and am seriously considering moving to another practice, but on reading other peoples' experiences, there don't seem to be any better practices in the area.
