Anybody know of any charity shops doing home collections? We usually donate to Ald Life, but they aren't taking any donations at all at the moment

Sainsburys click and collect - 27 items missing - chaos!!
ctovey replied to O.A.Partygirl's topic in The Lounge
Have been using Sainsburys for home delivery since just after lockdown. On an ?80ish shop, most items are available. Only had one issue with food going out of date within a couple of days - sorted out through the on line reporting system and a credit given for next order. Also had an issue with a substitution, which wasn't suitable. Once again a full credit given for next order. Delivery guys are all really polite and helpful. Really pleased with the overall service. -
Anyone happen to know if Timpsons in the car park is open?

Just a quick update - London Councils have not yet had clarification from TFL and Dept of Transport as to what the restrictions will be on use of Freedom Passes, so they can still be used as usual

Why are non essential shops still open?!
ctovey replied to Jonny Comfort's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Can anyone explain the logic of off licences being 'essential'? -
I have my son working for TFL on the Underground and my ex daughter-in-law working as a bus driver. I would happily pay to keep them safe.

And free. Good decision.

If you have a car, click and collect would be a good option. Or phone Sainsbury's elderly /vulnerable helpline on 0800 052 5500 and explain your situation. I got a delivery slot in about 5 days from phoning them

Organic village market - stock update
ctovey replied to Brandome19's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Hubby went there this morning. Said it was impossible to social distance as the aisles were narrow and 2 way, so if there was more than one customer going up, you had to pass them coming down. -
My grandson's mother is a bus driver and his dad (my son) works on the Underground. Any measures that keep them safer, whatever the cost, is ok with me

JohnL Potatoes and coffee definitely available this morning. No eggs, don't know about ice

Went to Sainsburys this morning for the OAP session. Queued for approx. 30mins around the car park. All very orderly and well organised by staff. Got everything we needed, although noticed that there was no flour, eggs or pasta products and tinned food a bit sparse. Plenty of fresh veg and fruit, cooked meat products, dairy, milk, bread. Staff very good natured and appreciated being thanked when we left.

Hi Not sure of the name of the nursery, but its in Wilmington in Kent, so probably not much use to you if you're local and wanting a nursery place at the moment
-
My son is a key worker, so his daughter is still going to nursery. However, the nursery have said that if he doesn't have to send her on certain days, they will give a refund for those days.

Hubby was in DKH Sainsburys about 9.30am this morning. Every till was manned, but queues were still down to the rear of the shop. Shelves pretty empty, not much fresh veg, although he reported they had loads of cucumbers!

IF anyone's interested, Iceland in Rye Lane is open from 9-11am tomorrow solely for elderly customers

Emergency paediatric dental- advice pls
ctovey replied to Lochie's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Kings Dental Hospital doesn't have a walk in service any longer. You can phone 020 3299 5608 from 8am for a same day appt or 111 in an emergency -
Ours (SE5) has been on and off since last week. Came back again this morning, then down again this afternoon for a while. Has just come back. We were told our TV was 'too far away from the router to pick up the wifi signal', even though it has been in the same place and in the same room as the router for years!
