There are a number of community notice boards around the area and I am trying to put a flyer or two in then. Barry Road -- healthy streets consultation
beansprout replied to Sally Eva's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well I have just finished filling in the online form kindly supplied by Sally Eva. It doesn't take long and unless one wants to have nothing done and vote with ones's feet. Will remain the same - we have already lost sorting office and post is very irratic - not the samething but we are discussing the possibility of someone or people being killed here. I actually was prsent at one of these road watches and we clocked numerous people driving over 30 mph. Not keen on loosing parking spaces with from what I have seen less around roads convenient to Barry Road but that is life and I for one would like to feel safe crossing the road as I have mobility issues. Could one not think about a charge for vans that seem to park for hours at a time and this is going to go down badly but a charge for people who have more than one car in a house. -
Yes please... Just tried to text but bounced back. Are you in ED - I volunteer in a care home and do various projects - collage was the latest. Can collect this pm

Anyone having problems with Virgin Media today?
beansprout replied to ribrob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have had, touch wood, good connection from Plusnet but who knows what happens in a month or so. Great customer service in UK andreceived a mail from them after 14 days telling me what was guaranteed and what speed I was getting. Cannot fault them at all since I started the order prrocess - had a problem just after connection & yes did have to wait for 10 minutes but was sorted. Would not toych Talk Talk or Virgin. Interestingly, I disn't pay TT for 2 months and they started threatening cancellation charges, non payment charges but as I had demanded some paper trail as they refused to e mail, they did send so did not have aleg to stand on. I actually sent a mail to CEO as I was so angry and it got the required outcome. No compensation but charges waived together with a letter stating that any adverse teaction via credit agencies hD been lifted - sorry to tired to think but hope you understand. Good luck have no idea the hours/days I lost with irratic internet connection not taking into account my rimeetc. Good luck tonall of you on Virgin & Talk Talk. Think the real problem here is for new lines/connections etc they have run out of space but don't tell us poor mortals and bluntly lie.. -
Hi, I am thinking aboutvtryingvthem out and was wondering if anyone had used them and could report positively and negatively. Thanks for reading.

anything I can do about a dodgy sale on EDF?
beansprout replied to hwilliams's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I have bought a lot of stuff from EDF and never had a problem, including something of a teckkie nature. . I have also sold some stuff as well, you have to trust people and yourself... Been to some areas as well which were well out of forum range. Trust yourself, your gut feeling and take a friend if you are unsure. Haven't had time to read all the above. -
Royal Mail Sorting Office Closure Meeting..
beansprout replied to DulwichFox's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I was told by guy in sorting office recently that it is closing and we will have to go to somewhere in Peckham by end of year. Apparently not many people showed up or sent forms back - pity as I assume now to late. Had I lived here then would certainly have supported fight to remain open - no doubt a developer will get their hands on it and convert it into houses or flats - no social housing at all. Wish it could be turned into a facility to benefit community - personally sad to hear about sorting office as I certainly will find it difficult if not impossible to get to Peckham. -
I would be game one night a week, poss more depending on my schedule. Doubt anyone would be interested, but have always wanted to walk round roads in ED looking at street art and there are also a couple dotted around Dulwich. Can?t do Monday. PM me if you are interested - think it is a great idea, but would like to meet first.

How about one of these walks in London with qualified guides - I did one years ago with a kid of that age to do with law and he throughly enjoyed it. Then went rowing in Regents Park. If it is still in Ruskin Park how about the high wire? Has a safety net to fall into. Looks great or walking over the Olympic Park Roof. A walk along South Bank is always good with plenty going on night and day and street food as well.

With the nights getting shorter, personally surprised you want to walk at that time of night. Parks will be closed when it gets dark locally - Battersea Park is worth walking in as they have lights on the pathway all hours of the night plus free parking. If you can do during the day, which I assume is not the case then On a Thursday at 11am, walk around Ruskin Park for an hour. If you google healthy walks you will find walks during the day in most boroughs. Sorry not to be of much help - in summer months, sure ramblers have walks in evening - only other thing I can recommend is gym, boring or going for walks in London. Have them all over every night - think cost is aprox 8/10 and you get a discount for subsequent ones. Qualified guide hence price.
