Another Land Rover stolen from St aidans Road
beansprout replied to Lcpt's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hope you reported it? But equally why bother - police force has been stretched to capacity - humans are more important than, car theft, burglaries. Personally, rather they get a grip with London stabbings - would be nice if they could deal with car theft etc.. Understaffed and over stretched - not helped by moving local officers to another patch. If some one or people are going to break in, nothing one can do! Beginning to think about leaving my car unlocked, with windows open abit - no need to smash them as these days, they are not interested in radios etc. Identity fraud prob.. Doubt they would bother with an old Land Rover, so guess yours must be top of range and prob in another country or stole to order. -
Up by the Rookery in Stretham is kids pool and thereis one in Brockwell as well. Ruskin as well but no or not alot of shade. Invest in a fan, that is what I have done - air circulating and dog much happier than outside with little air but alot of heat!! Doubt even the woods would be much good and no shade in Peckham at all. Cold towel? Ice cubes?? Air con in various friendly shops?

Dulwich Runners in Dulwich Park offer this - was posted here a while ago and you have a buddy for the duration from memory.

Hi, very stupid question but what does one do with them? Chuck them in recycle bin? Do people have uses for them? Assume if you are a teckie then yes. Same things with all the other bump they send you each time you change suppliers.

Local Mum Robbed - Adys Road.
beansprout replied to Supernanny*'s topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Pity so few people showed up at recent meeting at Christ Church when these issues were discussed. Our two new policmen were also there. Three issues are giing to be taking priority. -
Horniman has stuff on as does picture gallery. How about hiring for the odd day an x student who could take him into town say science museum, natural history, visit to Cutty sark or Greenwuch. Brockwell Park garden place has stuff on, i think. Plenty of stuff going on at Southbank - the list is endless! Really depends what his interests are.

Advice Needed re Fraudulent ordering of mobile phone
beansprout replied to beansprout's topic in The Lounge
Thank you -
Hi, I have recently been receiving text message from a courier company arranging delivery of a SIM which I never ordered. I spoke to my cell provider and they have moved this matter to their fraud department and I should hear in 7 days. I asked for a confirmation e mail to be sent to me and have received nothing! Despite calling twice on the following day and being placed on hold as I asked to speak to a supervisor. You can?t complain on web site as site is down. They were suppose to have cancelled this bogus new contract but haven?t. I cannot cancel my old contract and leave so they tell me because of all this. I suppose it makes sense. I have never had this sort of thing happen to me before and certainly have zero faith or comfort with my cell provider. Do I need to report this to the police or do they? Would be grateful for any advice - hindsight is a wonderful thing, a week ago the lock to my side gate was forced - didn?t bother to report it as nothing was taken - now this happens, so take note.

Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
beansprout replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
My food caddy arrived - did it all on line. I have a couple of brown bags with turf, leaves etc so as I am not sure, plan to leave them out and see what happens. Know that Lambeth have teceived their stuckets for bins 10 days ago - looking in ED, haven't seen any on bins so assume they are in the post... -
Side Passage Door broken into - Barry Road - pn Sat
beansprout replied to beansprout's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It was between times stated ie late morning/afternoon. Actually in full view of those driving or walking along Barry Road - The door in question is located on the side of the buiding, wooden with now a new lock thanks to Callow. Guess it was opportunist who got timings spot on on a normally busy road! -
Personally would not touch Virgin! Was with EE fir years but ran into truble with slow connection a year ago and moved to Plusnet which is generally find. Both EE and Plusnet can change the frequency for you if like me you were having problems with buffering and cutting out. Having said all that, beginning to think the problem isn't the frequency issue but the shear vokume of people using teck these days all no doubt going down/throygh/via a limited line.

I am going to Kew in a couple of weeks time - thinking about going to Richmond by tube or train and then plenty of buses to Kew. You can also go to Kew Gardens and 15/20 minute walk to entrance. Like you, worried car park might be full and taking two elderly people with might - no disabled badge either so might just cab it from there. Can park on Kew Green but doubt there will be any parking unless one arrives at sparrow hour! Wld love to hear how you got on and which route.

Hi, I am thinking about using them and knew of a couple of people who used them a couple of years ago and were very happy with the arrangements. Has anyone used them recently? And would you be prepared to comment - good or bad. Thanks.
