Is that a rhetorical question?...it will depend on the nature of the restriction...if it's residents only then residents will pay for a permit and there will be reduced parking for non residents/non permit holders. If it's time restricted paid parking then the amount of parking might stay the same but non permit holders will be able to park for a a limited time and it could be paid or free etc etc. There are many permutations but residents will need to pay for permits if they want to park on their street at restricted times. So it just depends what the council installs. Has that been published?

First Mate do you know what the hours will be of the new cpz?
-
I'm guessing this is all type roofing in Bawdale road. At least the roofers will able to stop and load more easily if they put DYLs in. I presume there won't be no loading lines on the kerbs as that wouldn't make sense. But no doubt once the cpz comes in on the Melbourne grove side and people living and/or working on lordship lane move their parked cars to the east side of LL, the cpz will come in on Bawdale and other side roads. It will be interesting to see if those living in flats above shops on lordship lane will be able to get permits as I don't think those on the west side can apply in the Melbourne grove scheme. Bit unfair imo.

Loading restrictions are indicated by kerb lines Lines on the road are for parking

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-14774205/Urgent-warning-opioid-deaths-Met-Police-pills-heroin-nightclubs.html?ito=email_share_article-top I'm sharing this article to help to spread the word about these new deadly synthetic opioids called Nitazenes which are finding their way onto the drug scene. Two more young lives lost last weekend in young people at a South London club. Most people I talk to have never heard of Nitazenes which are being used as contaminants in a number of other drugs including sleeping pills like valium and Xanax, oxycodone but have also been found in vapes and sedative antihistamines and cocaine. So people buying sleeping tablets and other substances have no idea of the risk they are taking. This is a relatively new trend and the number of deaths is on the increase. Do discuss it with your teenagers and young adult children and anyone you know tempted to purchase sleeping tablets online. It really is a much more dangerous and potentially lethal time to buy tablets online or on the street and hopefully knowledge of Nitazenes can help people protect themselves. This stuff is in London and no doubt, is already in Dulwich so do spread the word.

Poundland East Dulwich soon to be replaced by Tesco Express

I bet the rents in Crouch End are higher than in ED so not sure the logic holds up. -
Family holiday - south of France - by train?

Do check out changing at Lille if it's possible, as is much easier than changing stations in Paris. I did London to Montpellier changing at Lille which was very straightforward but it was a little while ago. -
I was interested in this paragraph: Are the local councils renting out their parks getting ripped off by the international festival operators and private equity companies who own the festivals?
-
An interesting article from Journalist Jim Waterson about how much councils make from festivals....it starts with an article about 5g but scroll down for the festivals article https://www.londoncentric.media/p/real-5g-conspiracy-how-londoners-lied-over-their-phone-signal

South Circular roadworks - excessive disruption

".....Try talking and getting on with neighbours, it makes life so much easier helping each other out, chatting, talking, laughing, crying and having fun together. "đ¤ I'm confused đ -
How about Ev or one of the other places under the railway arches in Isabella Street behind The Cut. And there's leafy outdoor seating if the weather's nice.
-
And, as stated by one of the council officials at one of the consultation meetings, the council doesn't want anyone commuting to ED in a car....which is a bit difficult for the people living a distance away and starting work here at 6am.

Put it in a pot of soil and wait for it to reveal itself.

Pavement widening outside M&S nr East Dulwich station...

This no joke Malumbu! I was traveling recently and came to a crossroads that had 27 various signs divided between the four corners. That took a while to read đ¤Ŗ. Fortunately it wasn't at a junction near us. -
It's my understanding that estate agents are obliged to put forward any offer to the seller made to them by the buyer. The decision to accept us up to the seller. If you're in a chain and someone in the chain has the brass neck to threaten to pull out at the last minute unless you take their lower offer, you're in a very tricky position and the gazunderer knows that. It's a really nasty thing to do but a crappy person will do it to save money. That's why if you can be at the top of a chain by going into rented or some other temporary solution you're in a much stronger position to tell the gazunderer to take a running jump which is very satisfying.

Holland & Barrett is coming to Lordship Lane
Moovart replied to GMav's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That is good to hear. A few years ago I certainly had a hard time convincing two close relatives to give MMR x 2 to their children rather than have six single vaccines done privately as they had been suggested was best by someone in Health Matters. Glad to hear the anti MMR advice is no longer being given. -

As per a previous post on EDF, worth reporting to police on 101 in case it is stolen. That could be a helpful thing to do. If it's not stolen and it's parked legally then it's not going anywhere. "........the Council's responsibility is only to remove abandoned vehicles. Any vehicle that has been involved in a crime ( such as theft ) is the responsibility of the Police. If you suspect that a stolen vehicle has been left on your street, please phone non-emergency police on 101 and they will see if its stolen and get it removed, if appropriate." -
Should cyclists have the same speed restrictions as motor vehicles?
Moovart replied to tedfudge's topic in Roads & Transport
I got shouted at by a middle aged cyclist with a child in the bucket because they had to come to a quick stop turning left as I and others were crossing the road. They nearly fell off cos they weren't paying enough attention riding up to the turn. The next day a young person in a supercar came to a prompt stop on a left turn to allow me to cross. I was heartened by the fact the super car driver at least knew their highway code unlike the older bike rider with a child on board. I think many cyclists, particularly those who are not also drivers, just don't realise they have to give way to pedestrians. 𤡠I'll add a rider before there's a pile on.... I do realise that many drivers don't know their highway code either! -
Pavement widening outside M&S nr East Dulwich station...
Moovart replied to EDmummy101's topic in Roads & Transport
All seems to be progressing pretty smoothly really. Let's hope it heralds an East Dulwich pavement improvement programme all the way up the shopping part of Lordship Lane where the pavements are being lifted and sunk by the very young (less than 25yrs in most cases) but already massive Plane trees. âšī¸ -
We do now! âēī¸
