  1. This company may be of help to you https://newable.co.uk/ Good luck
  2. Oh yes I see. Oh to be quoted in The Sun. An accolade indeed for The Cat. Well remembered Dogkennelhillbilly It's a joke on the very first page of this thread, and the poster lives not in East Dulwich, but in...Australia! I think the other quote in the article is (cough) paraphrased at best. The journalist doesn't realise the concern isn't that it will knock out farmer shops, it's that it will affect Farmer's, a shop.
  3. Apologies for the error in my previous post. I put The Sun and journalism in the same sentence which, I think, might be an oxymoron!
  4. Ok, own up. Who was it that said this quoted in The Sun?? One fumed in an online forum: "How am I expected to push past all those tracksuits while I'm carrying a selection of cheeses from Mons (a local posh cheesemongers) not to mention the quince paste." "You know, there may be a few scraps outside all of a sudden" https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/21722594/we-dont-want-a-poundland-in-our-posh-neighbourhood/ A classic bit of Sun journalism 🤣
  5. Are you sure the building is not insured by the freeholder. It would be negligent and very risky for a freeholder to not have buildings insurance. If there was a fire and the house burnt down the freeholder would be liable. Usually the freeholder insures and then splits the cost between the leaseholders.
  6. Have a look at Bell House in Dulwich Village for dyslexia resources. https://www.bellhouse.co.uk/
  7. I came across this little snippet from The Sweeney filmed at the junction of Ryedale, Underhill Road and Honor Oak Mansions inside and out. There weren't many cars parked in Ryedale in 1974 compared to now.
  8. I can recommend Roshane 07949 180533 V good plasterer and a nice person
  9. Wow, that's a good cat. Mine just lies around sleeping 🤣 Glad you found it.
  10. My understanding is that if you don't wish to have hiv screening you just need to cross out the test on the blood form and testing won't be done. It's your choice.
  11. It's worth reporting the potholes on this website because Southwark are then notified and can also put pressure on Thames Water to make a repair. Worth reporting any dangerous pothole. https://www.fillthathole.org.uk/
  12. At last, someone is making a fuss about this. Shame it had to be the Daily Express but at least one newspaper recognises this as an appalling failure of a public service.
  13. I didn't realise that party wall surveyors do not need to be chartered surveyors or structural engineers. So it's a good idea to check the qualifications of whoever you employ to check that they have appropriate RICS and/or structural engineering qualifications in case you do run in to structural problems. The Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors is a small shop in Hastings and, to be a member, you need to have an "interest in building" and do a two day paid course so I wouldn't consider membership of this to be an indicator of structural knowledge. Good luck.
  14. I send out several 2nd class items every day which are second class tracked. They are getting delivery quickly. Some even arrive next day, which is amazing. RM are prioritising tracked items as the sender can claim compensation in some cases after 10 working days. Things like Christmas cards have no priority whatsoever so are taking 3 to 4 weeks to get delivered. Plus a lot depends on the local delivery office. The Peckham D.O. is a disaster area. If it's important, send it tracked Not true. My tracked parcels took 2-3weeks to arrive. £5.65 for one book sent to me tracked first class but only as tracked at delivery. Tracking at 24/48hrs is even more expensive and we shouldn't have to pay that. Sending post out of SE22 doesn't seem to be a problem. It's the post coming into SE22. In my case all parcels were stuck in the Croydon sorting centre when I rang to enquire.
  15. If parcels are being prioritised why are tracked parcels not being delivered on time....one tracked parcel sent 28 November arrived on 22 Dec. One 24 hr tracked parcel sent 21 Dec still hasn't arrived. Royal mail are charging for a service they just can't deliver. I thought it was all about competing for the parcel delivery market but now I'm wondering if it's about a service so bad it collapses and royal mail can do a big property sell off and walk away.
  16. ZIP card found on Underhill Road. Please send a PM to hopefully get the card and owner reunited. Thanks
  17. Brilliant idea. Not!! To bring healthy people seeking banking advice into the same place as sick and potentially infectious people seeking health care. I guess the rent is much cheaper than a proper bank...gotta keep up those profits...poor bankers!
  18. Same place as it's burst and been repaired at least twice before. I would really appreciate someone from Thames water explaining why repairs only seem to last a few months before they go again. There are several leaks in this area that have been repaired at least three times.
  19. Yes there's definitely a sore throat, lost voice, headache and cough bug going round lasting 1-2 weeks. Hope you feel better soon.
  20. Considering that stretch of LL has lost two ATMs at Barclays since Friday, it's not a surprise the Co-op and Post Office ATMs are being given a hammering. There are two additional ATMs that charge a fee, Yildirim Off-licence at 93 LL charges £1.99 and Payless at 23 LL charges £1.85. The reduction of cash machines across the board because more people are using card is leaving those who rely on cash with less options. Even Saisnbury's has reduced the ATMs at DKH from 2 to 1. It's actually 5 ATMs lost because there were 3 inside including the machines that allow you to pay in cheques and not to mention all the times people tried to use the inside ATM only to be redirected back to the queue for the counter staff. Another nail in the coffin of customer needs. Maintenance of banking profits is king!
  21. Cos we really need another restaurant.....so much more useful than a bank!!!! Poundland is - its replacing Foxtons. Its discussed here: /viewtopic.php?t=2286345 Haven't heard anything about Wagamama. Any source for that one?
