Yep - I probably served you at some point Otta. The Jukebox was good, bit tight to play pool well though!

I'm not denying that it was a bit of a dive. But rather there than the Lord Palmerston when me and a group of friends were run over (on the pavement) by one of there punters in 1990.

  9. Southwark Park set to host Southwark Council's Guy Fawkes Night As well as the traditional fireworks display, the council is also set to provide food and novelty stalls, a mulled wine and spiced cider bar and children's funfair rides. Councillor John said: "I'm absolutely delighted to announce plans to hold our Guy Fawkes Night event in Southwark Park. It's set to be a great family fun event with an array of spectacular fireworks in one of the most stunning parks in the capital. Along with the rest of the council, I'm looking forward to celebrating this great national tradition with thousands of people from across Southwark and beyond." Subject to final approval, the event will take place on Saturday 5 November and is scheduled to start at 6pm and end at 7.30pm at the south end of Southwark Park near the running track. The fireworks display itself is scheduled to start at 7pm.
  10. Statement on Southwark Council's plans for Guy Fawkes Night 2011 Councillor Veronica Ward, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport at Southwark Council, said: "There is absolutely no truth in the claim that we want to rename Guy Fawkes Night. "The facts of the matter are that we are currently consulting locally to see if people want a traditional fireworks display in the south of the borough. A decision on whether this goes ahead will be entirely up to them. "Finally, the council will not be holding an event called 'The Colour Thief'. This was an earlier proposed theme - not agreed council policy - for a community event but has since been dropped."

  22. Brown Stewed Chicken - around ?10 all in, feeds you for a few days at least ? 1 whole chicken cut up/or 8 pieces Add to this... 5 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped 1 large onion, chopped 2 scotch bonnets, chopped 2 large scallions/spring onions, chopped 1 large tomato, chopped Handful of thyme Season with crushed black pepper Add soya sauce and browning, however, if you can't get browning then don't worry too much??(2 teaspoons each) Mix it all together and leave covered in the fridge for a couple of hours at least. Then, Brush off the marinade and keep to one side. Now, get a frying pan nice and hot add oil and brown the chicken pieces. When the chicken is browned put it in a saucepan and cover with cold water Add the marinade that you set aside and add two large spoons of tomato ketchup. ?Add more to taste as it cooks. Cook it on a very gentle simmer for 2-3 hours (lid slightly off) until the meat falls of the bone. Serve with rice or potatoes Thank me later...booyakah!
