  1. Really impressed by Aria, really quick response and resolved the issue immediately. Very fair charge and good, honest advice. Totally recommend him as your first port of call for a plumbing drama!
  2. We just had air con installed in our house about a month ago, best decision we ever made, can't believe it took us this long, plus it does hot air for the winter too!
  3. Oh come on, it's hardly the streets of Delhi! Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > People have to live somewhere. > > Although I don't know why anyone would choose to > buy an overpriced property on a very polluted high > street.

  6. mate, they've been banging on about avoiding cash for some time now, surprised you've only just noticed, Moxons, Franklins, Mons the list goes on, put your cash away it's teeming! Not to mention old school :)
  7. Wild Garlic soup is lush and I can't wait for the season to start which is only just round about now. We always go through to Ighaham Mote where there is masses of the stuff, you can freeze it too. And obviously there's no need to uproot it, just pick away there's enough for everyone if you travel just outside the city.
  8. already gagging for a Peckham Rye loaf!!!! Was the only bread I actually enjoyed eating.

  18. ryelane Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can I ask what make of CCTV camera are the images > from please ? V good quality. Hi ryelane, our electrician chose it and installed it for us it's called iVMS-4500 https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/ivms-4500-lite/id441697527?mt=8 yeah it's great quality - those are just stills you should see the actual HD video of the burglary I could make a feature film out of it. We also use the Ring video doorbell too.
  19. I just wanted to make people aware that our car was broken into on Tuesday night on Crystal Palace Road near the Great Exhibition and a bunch of replaceable stuff stolen. That was followed up by last night them coming back for more and breaking into our shed stealing our bikes etc. Yes, we have CCTV, yes it was captured on film, yes both incidents were reported to the police. No, they are not interested in pursuing the case... quote "We are sorry to hear you have been the victim of crime. An investigator from the Metropolitan Police has looked carefully at your case and we are sorry to say that, it is unlikely that it will be possible to identify those responsible. We have therefore closed this case." surprised how fast they close the case - less than 24 hours. Anyway, so I'm just letting everyone know who lives in and near Crystal Palace Road area, there are shady people casing the neighbourhood who appear to know exactly what they're targeting with possible car/van getaway vehicle flanking the operation (this surmised by the video and a bunch of other similar break-ins in the area). Both instances took place around 3/4am, and robber(s) were not in slightest bit put off by security lighting or visible alarm box illuminated. The Great Exhibition was also broken into a few weeks back, so just be on guard and do what you can to secure your space. I've attached a couple of images - not that I imagine it will help much, I wouldn't normally add these if the police were actively investigating. But if you do recognise him I suppose you could report it to the police's "cold case division" :)
  20. Have to agree, I didn't find it particularly debilitating. There was something quite novel about going au natural without a shower for a few days and a good reminder of how lucky I am to be able to assume water's there when I need it. Don't think I'll be filing a claim.

Exactly, sometimes wish they'd just legalise them, if only to stop the curtain twitching neighbours moaning about it.
  23. > > We don't have to use the term racism though. EXACTLY, people need to educate themselves and start using the correct language because language has power and it's important. I was taught very early on in first year Politics that black people can be prejudice against white people but they can't be racist because they don't hold the position of power. Think that's the legal position anyway... although these days you's hardly know it, suddenly everyone's experiencing racism. So getting back to how this all this started, no, it's not a two way street. BUT prejudice, aggression and hatred in all it's many guises is indeed horrible and I'm sorry the original poster experienced it.
