  1. I love how yesterday (before a certain image was released) it was all 'don't let them in' today it's, 'oh ok then, let them in, just don't let them in here. Or why don't they stay in Turkey? why don't they stay where they first arrived? Ok they're refugees today, but oh hang on a second, they just moved geographical positions - they must be thinking too much about where they want to live, back to being economic migrants. heavens above.

  3. Perhaps you should look into the facts and read the news and inform yourself. Actually the tide is fast changing and most want to get to Germany because they appear to have more of a heart than us and their prime minister has stuck two finger up at the ridiculous 'Dublin Policy' (as it's called) that stipulates refugees must seek asylum in the first European country they arrive in, it hugely exacerbates the situation and must be changed. I CANNOT wait for govt to let more refugees in and I will happily put some up in my spare room. Each to their own though.. Agreed, ugly in your opinion. Thank god beauty is in the eye beholder :)
  7. anyone else bored of those 'typical period victorian' properties? Totally M.O.R, stayed, predictable, lacking in any originality and I fall asleep just looking at some of those pictures above. give me a 70's 80's and decent budget any day of the week.. you can't even swing a cat in some of those gardens.
  8. *face palm* worst mistake I ever made was leaving Villa Street Medical practice in the middle of the Aylesbury estate walworth, now that's a practice with some serious mullah behind them - I never waited in my life for an appointment and they even had a tropical diseases section too, so I got my malaria tablets for my hols in a jiffy!
  9. nowt boring about a communal toilet mate
  10. communal toilets are all the rage
  11. if we wanted cheap we wouldn't be living in dulwich darling *removes tongue from cheek*
  12. i'd eat dog in a heartbeat, oops I have done. And horse. Didn't particularly care for either but I'd do it again. I know, absolutely no point to this post....just thought I'd butt in :)
  13. I'm sure it's very nice but, IT'S MCDONALDS!!!!!!!! btw Did you know it's called McDavid's in Jerusalem #uselesstrivia
  14. As if they really need anymore advertising, can we please stop mentioning cafe Nero? Doh! might as well drink coffee in McDonalds.. eeuughhh Not that I'm ageist or anything but seriously, you need to get down with the kids. Working from home is sooooooo last season. Shed loads of cafes & coffee shops open entirely for the purposes of capitalising on people looking for non traditional work spaces. Even Starbucks (the devil) up the road, has power sockets for laptops under almost all of its tables. They're calling it the workshop/workspace and it's all the rage in the east end - look, you can even get your bike fixed while you're working at this one... http://blog.wbc.co.uk/2014/02/the-popup-workshop-workspace-cafe-phenomenon/ Good on any independent coffee shop that plays catch up, rather give you my business than the devils....
  15. I have never seen anyone kicked out of pub for not keeping drinking, is this an old wives tail you're spinning us ;-)
  16. Totally, I work in the trade and it's proven to increase sales - and not just for chains. Just as having sofas and chairs along with free wifi in a women's clothes shop is proven to increase sales; men sit and browse while women stay put in the shop up to 5 times longer. no brainer really.
  17. Yippee!! Let's ban some more shit! #goodgrief

Yeah, put a sign up banning them or a notice saying "NO wifi, go to Cafe Nero", see how long that pays off for them.
  19. First of all, how the hell do you know how many cups of coffee they've purchased? Are you some sort of weird stalker coffee cup watcher? Stop watching them - eeeeuwww. Secondly, I know when I was self-employed and when I was looking for a job, I often took myself out to work in places like this with good wifi, because it was entirely demotivating sat in your gaff all day all night on your own. Give them a break. Thirdly, I now work for one of the largest suppliers and retail trainers of specialist food & drink retailers, and I promise you, having decent working wifi and attracting people to use it does NOT have an adverse effect on their business, it's almost entirely the opposite. For one thing, they are probably more likely to drink more cups of that coffee you talk about, than you. And fourthly, I agree with the others, just ask if you can sit next to them, afterall, you might be even able to help them with their work :)
  20. I wish it was a farmer's market! But anyway it's just my personal opinion, Brockley Market's way cooler and the market stall holders are way better looking so I buy more http://brockleymarket.com/gallery_newmarket.php and North Cross food? Hot dogs, diner food, hog roast, Vietnamese food and Mexican food - and have you have to ask what's missing? I don't want to get overly negative, cause I'm genuinely glad it's there, I just wish it was a little more vibrant and colourful and inclusive of lots of different artisan makers and producers instead of just 'no, one bakery is enough, thank you'
  21. I agree it's not easy getting a slot - my partner wanted to sell wine glasses, tumblrs and wine related accessories in the run up to Christmas and was told there were already people doing that. Uhhhm where? And in case someone from 'the powers', is reading this post - can't you make the market a little more, I don't, better....? I mean more like Brockley Market etc - filled with A LOT OF NICE THINGS particularly more food stalls? because quite frankly I think ours is an embarrassment compared to others nearby.
  22. Flaming hell, just give me a cinema! I'll pay more if I have to.
  23. do those two houses not utterly bore anyone else? no? Just me? No offence to anyone who lives in them.
  24. there's just something that makes me groan inside when I hear East Dulwichites brandishing the word "suffer" about
