  1. I don't quite understand DJKQ - did you used to run Thomas More Hall and turn it around or was it another another one? Who bankrolled your debt of 4k a year? I'm also confused about the phrase 'Community Hall'. This doesn't appear to be a Community Hall - it appears to belong to the Catholic Church? Did I miss something?
  2. Ha ha - silly me - I forgot. Drama student ;-)
  3. Thanks for what? For trying to give you an answer to your question and offer a constructive suggestion on how you might better find out what you're looking for? Clearly you like to self-righteously tell other people what they're allowed to do, and then throw a hissy fit when you don't get what you want. Grow up, kiddo.
  4. It's always surprising how many people want to run expensive feasability and consultation processes to try and force other people to keep paying for cheap facilities ;-) The church isn't a tax payer funded social service. It's a private institution with spectacularly private objectives. It has every right to choose to invest its own money appropriately to meet those ends. I'm really disappointed by the uninformed and aggresive approaches of some on this thread in acccusing the administrators of 'greed'. It's spectacularly rude, and in it's lack of knowledge it's simply abuse.
  5. Well I guess in that it was self-defeating, counter productive and rather presumptuous. See, we're now talking about what you said, rather than what you'd like to know ;-) Anyway - there definitely are people with that knowledge on the forum. Probably if you post a response to me, and change the subject line to: "ED 60s/70s - Valley Club and Bubbles Drag Queen - any info?" you're more likely to get the response you need? 'Play research' makes it look like a joke thread ;-)
  6. On no, not another recondite lexicological bacchanalia.
  7. :)) Excellent.
  8. What about petitioning the government on YouGov? Go absolutely mental - call the police, the army, the ambulance service. Anyone. Scream at people in the street.
  9. "I'm perfectly entitled to slam my hand repeatedly in this door, and don't you DARE try to stop ME!!! It's not ME hurting my hand - it's the DOOR!!" :))
  10. Didn't know how to spell paean before. Never attempted to use it. Might well do over next 12 months. If someone can put a calendar reminder for Nov 2012, you might well be able to tell me if I have. *scratches nose* What about pusalinimty?
  11. How bizarre! A sort of 'basking in reflected glory' from the tragedy - as if 9/11 brings status and credibity to Unions. I hardly think the deaths were a statement about organised labour, or that the 500 union members who died were somehow more worty victims than the other 2,500. I know what you're saying MM.

I can't! It would be a spoiler for the others. However there is a link to the answers and explanations when you collect your score :-)
  13. Hmmm, now you've got me contriving all sorts of convoluted fantasies about getting a 'New Ager' into the sack... ;-)

Ah yes, I almost got that one wrong too - just twigged it a few seconds before handing my paper in ;-)
  15. Sorry MM I didn't mean to imply that these were your values, I meant the buggers who murder their own 16 year-old daughters for 'honour'.
  16. Sadly 'strong values' is often a euphemism for religious bigotry, and I imagine there will be no shortage of people who wish to indoctrinate and distort their children by teaching them that prejudice and dogma are more important than an open mind and an inclusive society. Silverfox's assertion that we become more tolerant by teaching intolerance is staggeringly disingenuous.
  17. I had to look that up, but can now say with absolute confidence that the Pejazzle causes me immense distress

'Twas the final question. I can't explain why without doing a spoiler, but suffice to say I was pretty stupid. ;-) story of my life - looking for levels of complexity that just aren't there.
  19. Excellent stuff from the Irish!

I think I was probably in the last year for this in 81. Somewhat tragically I only got 14 out of 15. *embarrassed* Have a go yourself...

No WAY, Hose A. The ultimate is Ottery St. Mary. I genuinely thought I was going to die ::o http://www.pastymuncher.co.uk/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/flaming-tar-barrel.jpg
  22. I don't think intimidation can be classed as bullying - unless it's threats with menaces. There's plenty of people I feel intimidated by, but that doesn't make them bullies. You can't kick someone off the forum because someone else feels small around them ;-)
  23. What a cute cat! Looking suitably depressed and unloved too... :-S
  24. Well I don't see how anybody can do anything if it's 'bullying via PM' and the victim doesn't say anything. We're not mind readers. If bullying is so subtle it's undetectable then it's so subtle it's not bullying surely? Sue's definition seems pretty reasonable - and I haven't seen any persistent attempts to hurt or humiliate anyone on this forum. Disagreeing with someone is not the same as setting out to hurt or humiliate someone. Being brash or assertive isn't bullying either - a bully needs a victim.
