  1. Cycle monkey, I think you're right there, but I know a lot of civil servants that took early retirement in their mid 50's. They were offered such good terms. They said they could not say no, but then they can still have a parttime job.
  2. I think its only public servants in reality that retire at 60. The rest of us will have to wait. As we all know our private pensions have just dropped by a third,so we'll be work ing till we're 68 ( assuming we can find anyone to take us on).
  3. Yes of course they are, they always have, but more so now.
  4. I think you just have to limit your activity according to your own needs. I'm sure you've been on long car/coach journeys when you have to manage for 3 hours.
  5. Dear pugwash. You can use a debit card, you don't need an oyster card.
  6. If you are working, why is it unfair?
  7. I used to have an electric bike, the battery came off but it was heavy. Maybe its easier now.
  8. SUe, you need to store them where you can plug them in to charge them up .

  10. I think if you buy one from decathlon and don't like it you can return it.
  11. Yes I meant Huw Edwards- thats 6-7 weeks in, and its looking very tidy.
  12. I have to say Huw Edwards has avery sharp haircut tonight- how did he manage that? family member? some other tv presenters are not faring so well. Whose the best and the worst?
  13. I sympathise, a big part of going to university was mixing with others away from home.It was exciting meeting all those people and challenging the ideas you had been brought up with. It is not the same on line. Are they offering a year out? can he suspend for a year? I would be tempted to go and get a job in new zealand for a year- but maybe 100,000's of others think the same,
  14. Worth a go I thought. https://lcc.org.uk/articles/nhs-blog

  17. I see the country is still short of enough people to work on farms. Does anyone know which are the nearest farms to Dulwich and what/who they need ?
  18. We did it in new cross a few days ago. No queue, drove straight in, took 10 mins max.
  19. Ahh. I watched 2 episodes of the Crown back to back a few years ago. I have binge watched then. Only manage 30.mins usually.I was hoping to binge watch again, but I find it so hard to sit still.
  20. Does watching 2 episodes - ie 2 hours ,qualify as binge watching?
  21. How long can you sit and watch tv non stop?
  22. Are vaping shops essential??
  23. I stopped and bought an ice cream this morning, there was no queue, there was no one else in the shop and it was a free ice cream for NHS workers. If alcohol is essential, I think Ice cream should be too.
