  1. The speed awareness course was really good, I come away a better person, although all my journeys will now probably take at least 10% longer.
  2. you make it sound very nice- but how much are we talking about for a 2 course dinner for 2 with 2 g and ts a bottle of wine and coffees after?
  3. sorry to hear that- i am planning green tomato chutney this week. maybe allotments would be a good source? if you dont get any where I might trade you my tomatoes for a jar in return -I'll try and guess their weight when the weather is better.
  4. I had a nanny and i left the house at 8.30 am when she came- and then my partner ( who left early) got home at 6.15- I got home at 7pm. it worked really well for us when one was at nursery/ school and needed "wrap around care" so we did a nanny share with another toddler 3 days a week. I cant rememebr how much it cost, but it was the only way I could work late. we also agreed with the nanny whe would babysit one night a week mid week, which I think came close to saving our marraige. ( its so easy to say I'm not spending ?25 plus on a babysitter and not go out together). Having a nanny meant there was always food in the house, childrens washing/ ironing done. A good nanny can make your life so much easier- its finding one thats sooo hard, but when you do you will recognise her/ him straight away. Good luck
  5. How was eveyoens wine? did any one join the Tooting coop? or started an East Dulwich one? I dont want to create something undrinkable. Thanks
  6. Whats wrong with Homebase anyway ( apart form the double glazing women, who never seem to have any takers, and I always feel a little bit sorry for)?
  7. Some of the buses have cameras on . Do you think they might have a shot of him? That is truly horrible.
  8. I had a home birth wiht no 2 and actually I was surprised how uncomfortable I was even in the early stages of labour with my 4 year old asking for cuddles etc. I really think you need a spare pair of hands dedicated to your eldest child so that you can get on with No2.
  9. I expect its farrow andball paint then. I am pleased to see them, its just such a small shop I think it will be difficult.
  10. near Harold George- where the horrible Studio (54?)was.
  11. Getting ready to open Dulwich Village- I cant see how it will survive- don't you have to ahave an aga to have fired earth tiles?
  12. it should say something in your current agreement about this.
  13. IME schools are sometimes not very good at this- and your child can get stigmatised as a tell tale. Really try and sort it out without the school if you can, as teenage boys try this on all the time- and you have to act swiftly at stopping this.
  14. I like cycling- but its those hills that put me off- whenevre i head south and hit crystal palace hill I seem to decide it is better to cycle to the bottom of the hill and back 3 times rather than cycle up it ..............
  15. gwod, I htink this is all a sign that you had a great summer. Personally by 20th August I am ready for school to start. I wilingly do haircuts , dentists and shoes............
  16. But what if you don't know what you want? How can you consider yourself successful then?
  17. its quite unusual to be able to find English Language A level- I thought Harris Upper Norwood was the only school that did it. I would stick to English Lit and enjoy citizenship as a chance not to swot but enjoy .
  18. I think anything after 12.00 is unfair on your neighbours. I can't get my head around who has the energy to part till 4.30 am - they must be taking something.......
  19. My children went to dv C o E about 10 years ago and as I was raised Christian and went to C oE schools myself it seemed fine. As part of the general curriculaum they looked at other faiths too - Sikhs seemed to get a lot of attention - but maybe it was the swords etc that they so liked. There is a harvest festival and Christmas / nativity and I think it is very gentle- whilst son went to a catholic secondary school ( they used to take a percentage of non - catholoics as longyou you practices a religion) I would not advocate a secondary school as that is very in your face and very unfortunatly turned my son against any religion at all.
  20. i have poor circulation and both winter babies so i had ski socks on and a knee length nightie- one that you can breatfeed in - with buttons from the top - enough space to get your boob out. you should not really bet messy/bloody.
  21. i think foot muffs are really good for storing bits and bobs- blankets often fall off/ get caught in the wheels.
  22. (tu) yep really warm in the classrooms now.
  23. i think my cannon lexus has this it is a small compact and i think about ?150.
