  1. i think maybe you should foget the milk feed at 7 am and make it breakfast with milk after- then mid morning she could have the rest of the milk as a mid morning snack- then move lunch back a bit. then mid afternoon milk snack. its really hard to get it right- especially at this stage your main target is getting baby to bed at a reasonable time and making sure you get 7 hours uninterrupted sleep. Can you speak to your health visitor about this?
  2. i think it depends how old she is. But that sounds quite a short time from eating to drinking more milk. as long as she sleeps through the night and is keeping her weight up that is the main worry. If hte meal you are giving her at teatime has protein in and meets her nutritional requirements then I don't think theres a big deal of having a lot of milk later on. I'm sure some younger mothers will add posts later.
  3. any helpful advice appreciated please.
  4. mmmmy friend gave me a jar of grape jelly for my birthday- not as impressed as I would be with wine!!

  6. I find mens pocket coin jingling quite endearing- it means they can get a round in at least.
  7. I really want to use light coloured floor tiles but when I've tried this before the grouting always goes dirty. Any top tips you home improvers?
  8. My Dad was stationed there in the war ( it may have changed since then).
  9. some private nurseries are quite high pressured to get your child to read by the time the are 4 as some prep schools look for that. school nurseries only do school hours and school terms, some private nurseries do 52 weeks a year.if yur child is at a state nursery attached to a school and goeson to that school they will be familiar and will have a set of freinds to move up with.
  10. Theres a great book called mummy laid an egg by babette cole.
  11. i feel your angst! might it be an ear infetion that hurts when he lies down? he sounds like he is crying so much itmight be pain? i would tak e him to a dr just to check that out first.
  12. Tragic that I, newly redundant, can go tomorrow but no-one else can. Maybe we can have a top table alert thread so we can plan ahead next time?
  13. I agree annette- the photos of the scene of the little boy who was killed and stopping distances were shocking.
  14. whose going then? im not going by myself. can we have an edf table ?
  15. Yikes. How would that compare with the River Cafe pricewise? ( if I can convince someone else to pay).
  16. The speed awareness course was really good, I come away a better person, although all my journeys will now probably take at least 10% longer.
  17. you make it sound very nice- but how much are we talking about for a 2 course dinner for 2 with 2 g and ts a bottle of wine and coffees after?
  18. sorry to hear that- i am planning green tomato chutney this week. maybe allotments would be a good source? if you dont get any where I might trade you my tomatoes for a jar in return -I'll try and guess their weight when the weather is better.
  19. I had a nanny and i left the house at 8.30 am when she came- and then my partner ( who left early) got home at 6.15- I got home at 7pm. it worked really well for us when one was at nursery/ school and needed "wrap around care" so we did a nanny share with another toddler 3 days a week. I cant rememebr how much it cost, but it was the only way I could work late. we also agreed with the nanny whe would babysit one night a week mid week, which I think came close to saving our marraige. ( its so easy to say I'm not spending ?25 plus on a babysitter and not go out together). Having a nanny meant there was always food in the house, childrens washing/ ironing done. A good nanny can make your life so much easier- its finding one thats sooo hard, but when you do you will recognise her/ him straight away. Good luck
  20. How was eveyoens wine? did any one join the Tooting coop? or started an East Dulwich one? I dont want to create something undrinkable. Thanks
  21. Whats wrong with Homebase anyway ( apart form the double glazing women, who never seem to have any takers, and I always feel a little bit sorry for)?
  22. Some of the buses have cameras on . Do you think they might have a shot of him? That is truly horrible.
  23. I had a home birth wiht no 2 and actually I was surprised how uncomfortable I was even in the early stages of labour with my 4 year old asking for cuddles etc. I really think you need a spare pair of hands dedicated to your eldest child so that you can get on with No2.
  24. I expect its farrow andball paint then. I am pleased to see them, its just such a small shop I think it will be difficult.
