  1. or if you have a car you could always try a drive - ive spent many a 20 mins in a parked car with toddler asleep reading the paper........ or sometimes a nap every other day too.
  2. i think there is some truth is what your husband says- but it is more likely that they were boys who did quite well to begin with, fell behind and then picked up later.

  4. I dont think it is just the religion, because women in other muslim countries can drive cars.It is the interpretation of it.All Saudi women have to rely on men for transport. It is a terrible country to be a poor woman with no male relatives. I think we can do more than express discontent though. If a Saudi man will speak with me I will always ask him about this and challenge him. I think every feminist/ liberal can do this at least.
  5. aren't you being unkind to polio victims? they cant help wearing these kind of shoes.;-)
  6. of course they did if the pub closes for 15 months and there is no job for them.
  7. I would be tempted but put a time limit on it. I bet if you told your family you were only going for 3 years ( say) then they would all come to see you. However it is quite an ex pat lifestyle _ i think -so it depends on you too. I think you need to be sure about things like nurseries/ mothers and toddlers groups. Can you leave the children behind and pop out for a week to see what you think? His company (prospective) will probably have some kind of info pack for people in your situation? Good luck,
  8. you mean like apartheid in south africa then? Express discontent?

  18. Almost everyone feels like this. Whatever childcare you use. It is completely normal. I think its great that you are gradually going full time. Thats probaly best for you. Believe me there is not a "100% correct answer " for childcare. you do what you think is best for now, then you are continually worrying - even at 18 which university - if at all- it jsut goes on and on!!

  22. although I agree and I dont put a helmet on for local 5 minute cycle rides; when I have cycled into town in the rush hour I have seen several cycling accidents and some of them involve the cyclist being thrown off their bike and their helmet inpacting the ground or a vehicle. ps I dont wear headphones,
