My builder has told me my internal walls need planing as they?re not as flat as they should be - had anyone else had this done? Basically it involves hacking off all the plaster, replastering, and redecorating - and his company can do that all for me, so I don?t need to bother looking for other people. And it should last for at least 5-7 years before it needs redoing (they offer a free 5-year rechecking service too!)

I?ve had to call the builders in again to do some more work on the house. They seem to start very early though - sometimes when I get up at 6 they?re already there in the kitchen drinking tea? I?m not quite sure what time they finish either as their van is often still in the drive even when I?m going to bed.

The plaque people said you can?t just get one when I called them. There has to be verifiable proof the esteemed person lived at the property. That?s seems a bit stringent?

Thanks, but I want an official one. My period house is large since it was extended and Alexander Fleming must have lived too in a large period house in London - it could have been my house, so I could well be eligible to be plaqued.

Does anyone know how much it costs to get one of those commemorative blue plaques on your house? I know Alexander Fleming discovered penicillium in London - and when I bought my house the vendors send someone noteworthy lived there in the past - so I could be eligible for a plaque?

Somebody said that if I want to look at things like invoices I need to use one of those VPLs/VPNs? I have Wi-Fi at home and extenders in each room.

Oh right - that interesting- Someone told me (Mick down The Castle) that it?s actually a VPN?? The guy in the shop on LL said it was ?VPL? when I asked. Most confusing. Why can?t it just have one name? What?s the point in having two different abbreviations for the same thing?

Has anybody had to log-in via a VPL? Is it difficult to do? Someone said I had to log-in via a VPL - just wondering if it?s actually necessary or whether you can still see things without a VPL?

Shed base - what did you do and why is it great ?

Basically you put down the paving slabs on a hardcore base and then put the shed up - make sure you get the extra thick roof felt from the farm shop (for example, TFM).
