Was the traffic normal this morning to Elephant?

Nice quiet route through Camberwell and Walworth which takes about an hour and ten minutes. -

I'd take an ad from one of the big retailers with a big pinch of salt. It's very likely to be a snapshot rather than anything that reflects long-term prices and like-for-like comparisons (as the ad itself admits when it says sourcing from co-ops might pay higher prices). The supermarkets play the same game with their 'cheaper than...' ads.

They're just happier with a smaller margin at retail. And milk production has had less and less to do with 'farming communities' for some while now. By all means criticise the industry, but don't single out Iceland.

I suspect the Feds already had what they needed on Blatter - and the last week or so has been about privately doing a deal in exchange for coming clean and cooperating.

No, I didn't say they were as good as it gets. And saying you can go to Lidl or Aldi in Peckham, well, you'll still be able to go to Iceland in Peckham. The point is it's on our high street.

No reason why their milk, butter, onions, potatoes, carrots, tinned beans, etc are worse than other retailers. They're exactly the same, just cheaper. All you have to do is hold your nose while you walk past the beef and gravy pizza freezer...

It wasn't - it was personal details about the owner. -

Yes, you mentioned this before without any evidence. Even if it were true, a car or at most two per phase not getting through cannot possibly account for huge queues on EDG. You seem not to accept that the signal timings have clearly changed.

AM, they're farmed exotic creatures. I'm a veggie too, but I'm no more outraged by farmed crocodiles than I am by farmed pigs.

Beer Drinking in the Goose Green Playground
BrandNewGuy replied to DearBBC's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Robbin, that's correct. The Belgians are much more civilised in this regard. Most kids' playgrounds in parks are plonked right next to a bar, so the adults can have a beer while keeping an eye on their offspring. And no howls of outrage... -

Can't make it, alas. -
Just had an email from Southwark about a survey concerning planning consultations and how they are conducted. Worth a few minutes of your time to let them know your views. There have been a number of complaints on the forum about how Southwark go about publicising planning applications etc, so do take part - and there's just two weeks to respond. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1irv0eVt_jvWO7XbHjmjGd3Rse_bPA8JFf4fMgPgrhJ0/viewform

former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?

It is likely that this is > the change that has been observed, which includes > the pedestrian stage appearing after the East > Dulwich Grove eastbound right turn rather than > Townley & Green Dale. I can't see how that can be right. Changing the order of the lights (but not the timings) to have the pedestrian phase at a different point shouldn't affect the volume of traffic able to pass through from any one direction. Am I missing something? You say that it 'does feel an improvement'. In what sense? Safer? But it wasn't unsafe before. Every morning (some time between 7.45 and 8.15) I either walk to work, going up EDG and turning right down Green Dale, or get the train, walking the other way down EDG and turning left down Melbourne Grove. And I haven't noticed the lights at the junction be 'safer' in any way, but I have noticed the large queues of westbound traffic. This morning at about 8.10 I could see that the queue stretched back to the junction of Matham Grove and EDG. And, like jonl5, I too have noticed cars dipping left into Glengarry Road to get round to the Hillsborough road exit onto EDG just below the lights. Is this an acceptable knock-on effect of the changes? -
And a shout out for Clarkshaws and Brockley for 'normal' strength beer too. I think ED is served pretty well for real ales, Foxy - and a greater range than I can think of twenty years ago, even excluding the strong IPAs, chocolate stouts etc etc.
