  1. Anyone who has posted more than 3 messages on this thread (excluding the original poster) is hereby excluded from the Badger / MikeSE22 friend auditions. You know who you are. 6 pages? Seriously? The debate was fun. The whining and diatribe less fun. But loved AnnaJ's attempts at mediation and the sprinkling of humour (and excellent photos) supplied by MP and posse. BTW - in case anyone has the urge to brand me homophobic - am a lesbian (alas no kids, but open to offers). And surely cannot be a heterophobe as I used to have a friend in primary school who was straight (not any more, mind, but there you go)...
  2. Are people on this thread taking my name in vain? tschsh!
  3. At the moment, am hiding under my desk lest anyone gives me any work in the last 30 mins of the day. The rest of the time, am a lawyer dreaming of life away from the dark side ... maybe on lozzyloz's side of the fence.
  4. Oh gosh! Have a lovely day and congrats. Everything crossed for decent weather...!
  5. Polly D this is awful news. Glad they didn't get too much. Hope the hneymood was good!
  6. oh no. looks like i may be the only forumite not at the party :(
  7. 9.06pm and I'm stuck in the office missing EDF drinks :( Anyone else checking EDF in the general absence? Think of the havoc we could create with Mr Administrator otherwise engaged....
  8. You are entitled to quiet enjoyment (per chavwithalawdegree's post) - but if you get on with your landlord, you probably don't want to start nasty action against him/her/it. I suggest you take it up with your landlord and get them to have strong words with Foxtons. Hope you feel better soon.
  9. So overcome with Australian Shiraz at G&B, Mikese22 and I ventured into Foxtons to make some enquiries about buying a property together in the area. The purpose of this post is purely to convey our views on the general service given - not to invite another wingeing bitchfest about the conceptual issues of a Foxtons being in the area. We eyed up the lavish Ty Nant and booze bar elongated across the front of the space. Never ones to pass up the opportunity for free booze (even though Mikese22 bailed on the parteeeee last night - slacker), it seemed only right to venture in... So, Mikese22 and I were the ?young professional couple? looking to move into our first home together. Despite the fact that Badger looked like a stoned art student just-about-recovered from a drink-binge the previous night, and Mikese22 looking as gay as a Buckingham Palace window, the very nice Foxtons boy (name not given - one of the few oversights) took us seriously, even when we decided we could go up to ?600k (Badger looked somewhat nervous at this and proffered ?550k but was overruled by the boys - the second irritator). Allegedly 325 (yes, three hundred and twenty five) of our fellow SE22 residents have ALREADY turned to the dark side and signed up with the green demon. Apparently that?s a bit harsh so I will rephrase. 325 of our fellow SE22 residents - I am assuming not generally avid participants on the EDF - have put their homes on the market with Foxtons. Despite the impending housing-crash, it looks like they are here to stay. We were disappointed not to receive literature about homes on the market in the area until asked. Even then, we only got the magazine, so we have to wait for someone to give us a call for information about homes currently on the market here. I was impressed that after the initial Alexander Hall mortgage broker push, the guy ceased with the ramming-down-throat chat immediately when I said I had my own financial adviser. Anyway - other disappointments: - the South East London ?area? magazine contains numerous typos, including descriptions of properties in Camberwell as being in Camden. - the ?local? restaurant guide is all about South West London venues, save for a review of Jerk Rock (RIP). Good things: - the agent was very friendly and not pushy. - the agent was not wearing any offensive jewelry, nor an excess of hair gel (these things are strangely important to Mikese22). - properties in the magazine go to less than ?200k. - the pictures look good. - there?s a subscription offer for Time Out. Go to www.timeout.com/offers/scwebcam08 for the offer - pay ?2.50 for the first copy and get the next 8 free. Badger & Mikese22
  10. having tinternet issues and posted twice - sorry Mr Administrator
  11. whoops again Mr Administrator - I am hoping you can delete these. Internet issues...
  12. Louisa - did you make it? don't think i got to meet you...
  13. Great parteeee Mark for mayor?
  14. Hmmm - as above no lesbian places per se, but I have noticed a slightly-above-average-lesbian-clientele at: - Green and Blue (extraordinarily high number of lesbian couples) - Black Cherry (but less me at the moment as am boycotting due to excellent-cocktail-making-Southie-barman being on holiday or some such nonsense - pah) ZERO sightings in the Rye. Only gay men. Also - looks like there'll be quite a few of us at forum drinks on Friday :)
  15. badger

    Pink drinks

tee hee - no no MikeSE22 is a fine chap. Yes - planning on making the drinks!

    Pink drinks

hmmmm. would be up for this but only if someone other than Mikese22 also turns up!
  17. I was at work. One of my colleagues was there are said "this means war". Crikes. With you Mr Road - bit emotional.
  18. mikese22 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Going back to the original post, as a gayer I > always applaud PDAs from other gayers - not sure > I'd have the guts myself on Lordship Lane - though > I did snog my (then) bloke in Liquorish last year > and no-one batted an eyelid MikeSE22 - you also snogged me against the bar in Liquorish. Now tell me what is more unusual - two gay guys kissing in a bar in SE22, or a gay guy kissing a (then) lesbian girl in the same bar? I am too scared to look up 'munging' or any of the other words. Are there pictures as well? Actually, I don't think I want to know...
  19. Tee Hee. I was also holding it in for that very reason (and then they bloomin well closed the loos up by the main stage - drats). I am *ashamed* to say I was quite taken with Mr Josh Klinghoffer :-$ and Mr Reznor ;-) Oh dear - am likely to be disowned by the rainbow drinks crowd for that comment. Ah well.
  20. Razorlight were really sh!te Keef - you should be glad you missed it. My mate really wanted to see them so had to endure 30 minutes before I escaped to see Ash :) I was so disappointed Razorlight were headlining - they should have moved KOL up. Anyway - agree re Chillis, Smashing Pumpkins, Gossip and NIN - OMG that was an awesome set. Impressed with The Enemy, Sunshine Underground and Maps. Also strangely really liked Battles (strange only because not usually my thing). Great weekend - so much so, I have almost forgotten the annoying millions of 16-19 year olds. I didn't book time off work so am struggling with a sore head, dodgy throat and severe lethargy :( I have at least showered since my return yesterday and all-day drink-fest in Black Cherry yesterday. Groan - back to work.
  21. OMG you're alive!!! I am so relieved. I thought you had been sucked into a parallel smug-married-couples universe!! So all well on the gf front? Not much news... I climbed a mountain (Kili) and am very proud (and still tired). Also I laughed so much on reading adverse comments made about White Stuff on this forum that I promptly took myself over there and spent an ABSOLUTE FORTUNE last weekend. Drink sometime? Mikese22 would be up for it... could try and drag some of the others out but they have been strangely reticent.
  22. Tee hee. Declan, I am quite convinced that no one thinks the same way I do. That is the benefit of being the only one who is ever right.
  23. Not a twin. My mother was there, as was a nurse. Unless you want to get into a tedious descartian discussion on whether the mother and nurse were actually there, in which case I put up my hands and merrily say of course you can only know that you exist. That being the case, I will leave you to your self-debate whilst the rest of us (who may, or may not, exist - but strangely we are not too fussed about that) are down the pub having a (metaphysical or physical - again, we do not much care) pint.
  24. Forgiven! It was quiet but I hadn't been before and I found it thoroughly charming. Have I missed anything (aside from the White Stuff thread)?
  25. I go away for three weeks and some lass called Louise is causing mayhem in the lounge about white stuff (I laughed so much I thought I was going to have an 'accident') and some guy called Declan is going on some philosophical speel about how we are all born alone in a gay drinks thread. WTF? Anyway - Rye drinks... I went. Mikese22 went and someone else (a recruitee from gaydar who hasn't even heard of the EDF (*shock*)) went. No other bu@@er turned up! Should we aim for a Thursday evening instead? And maybe somwhere on LL?
