  1. Are people generally thinking of bringing kiddies now we are meeting in cafe? I will see how it goes with daughter tomorrow, depends on tiredness/morning etc. I look forward to meeting everyone :)
  2. Whenever I've been to dulwich park cafe its been a hectic nightmare. Maybe it would be a lot quieter on a rainy day? Anyone got any experience? In terms of somewhere suitable for toddlers on a rainy day I only know week day venues. Anyone know a Sunday alternative?
  3. We would enjoy meeting up too. 2.5 yr old plus pg mummy. Any day except Thursday and anything free/low cost. Like the sound of all these activities :)
  4. We are planning on moving our 2.5 yr old im next couple of weeks. By the way, have seen a nice cabin bed which would really help with lack of space. What do people think of height/safety issues? It has. a good 6 inch lip and could use a side guard too.
  5. I'm thinking of getting a cabin bed for our almost 2.5 yr old, as really need extra space under it. The one we've seen has a good 6 inch lip on it. Could she really dive out? What about with a bed side guard on it?
  6. I use Kids Organics detangling lotion each day, working through with fingers then using wide tooth comb. You can get it for a couple of quid from Paks in peckham (big green shop by S bound bus stop opposite-ish station). Plaiting is also really worth the effort. At first it seemed impossible but now 5 months later I feel quite confident and can create some pretty styles. It's impossible for our 2.5 yo to sit still too so I do her hair whilst she splashes in the sink or eats her dinner. Also just started conditioning her hair with something v moist once a week or so which is making it much more managable (dont bother washing at same sitting as would take too long for her to bear).
  7. They are mending the ripped up surface under the big swings. The only reason they had to shut is because the work man was not provided with enough fencing to secure the small area being treated from little feet getting sticky in the mending stuff. (was told this by the very nice guy himself just before he locked up.
  8. Last time I went to my friends wedding ay about 6 months and found a lovely dress in bhs. May sound boring but they &ad some nice not too expensive party wear.
  9. Hello Fuschia Thanks for the ref to Pantley PO. I had never heard of it but just had a read and I think it will be useful when no 2 arrives in Nov. No 1 was a super sleepy feeder so there is some advice there I will definitely be taking note of. Thank you.
  10. Can anyone go to this? Is there a no I should ring to book? Thanks.
  11. Hello can you get there from the footpath behind sainsburys or do you have to go around? Thanks.
  12. No the garden is still all fenced off, but the museum and cafe are lovely as ever and the field below the gardens is there for picnics.
  13. Thanks bb100 that sounds promising. Any other experiences?
  14. As there must be so many children in Ed who live over 300 yards from a local primary school, what schools outside the area have they ended up going to and what are they like? Thanks.
  15. Hello Everyone My second is due in mid November and i have been waiting and waiting for the scan to join this group. Had it Thursday and all Ok. Our daughter is 2 and will enjoy meeting other little ones on the 17th July. (think she already knows Crystal7's). See you there. (will email sunlover with my email).
  16. 'ad 2000' 'anger at how teen mums were portrayed' You're right it was just how they were 'portrayed'. It was the presenter who suggested that teens would only bf if celebs did. What the actual girl said was that she went to a class but it was no good. That could have been something useful for the programme to investigate.
  17. Decorating an Easter Bonnet is fun too :)
  18. Or is it the Easter hols ? Thanks
  19. There is a nice bits and bobs/hardware shop on Lordship Lane approximately opposite Soup Dragon. Not sure what it's called, but you can recognize it by all the buckets, dusters etc outside. Lots of useful, reasonably priced stuff and when I went there the other day the shopkeeper's little girl was very friendly and helped keep my little one distracted whilst I bought a few essentials :)
  20. Marmora Man wrote Cuts to lollipop ladies and mobile libraries (tho' personally I'd cut fixed libraries and keep the mobiles) don't affect people's incomes. They do affect the income of the people providing those services, who will now be either unemployed or on reduced hours/pay.
  21. Jungle formula's family version is very effective against mosquitos and really gentle We used it when daughter was one in extremely mosi ridden location It was also really hot and the combo of that plus sensitive fact 30 didn't produce any reactions
  22. Sorry I missed out on this. What is it?
  23. We live very nearby and all of the boys we have seen going in and out look very smart and seem to conduct themselves well on the way to and from school.
