  1. Nothing received here. Just waiting for the inevitable parking permit bill, doesn't matter what we do.
  2. It's total gridlock at the bottom end of Streatham high road every afternoon from what I've seen... Lambeth have previous with the closure at Loughborough junction, iirc that only got removed when someone died or nearly died as it slowed down the ambulance / blocked them in so much. Pretty sure the fines must have dried up for the LTNs around here by now, most people got wise to them, that £1m in fines in 3 months is a distant memory for the council... Given it's always been about revenue generation imo, won't be surprised if they're changed to try and trap people again somehow.
  3. The council is struggling with inflation as well. It's really as simple as that. You wonder why they want to roll out the CPZ everywhere? Even in the "gated communities" like court lane where there are barely any cars thanks to the LTNs already. Money, money, money.
  4. Sarp on opposite corner from M&S near ED station. I had mine done on Saturday, really useful shop, think usually only open in the afternoon.
  5. Looks like they gritted around it. I do wonder why so many pipes burst now, don't remember it happening so much in 10 or 20 years ago.
  6. Wouldn't surprise me from people in the likes of Velde way on East Dulwich Grove or people who live on the South circular around Dulwich Common estate. They're stuck with traffic outside their house 24/7 meanwhile the mansions around Court Lane get to live in a traffic free wonderland... Not sure why they leaflets would be done on Burbage exactly, restrictions around there are timed at least. I guess the increased parking fees have something to do with it ?
  7. Well there was that shotgun pointed in the face incident on Crystal Palace road a while back. The last time riot police were around it was for a protest against the drag at the Great Exhibition I think.
  8. Hopefully the government pull the plug and remove the legislation allowing LTNs, School streets should stay though as long as they're timed restrictions not blanket. I think Tower Hamlets were correct when they scrapped LTNs: "They have pushed huge amounts of traffic on to [other] roads … and are simply moving congestion and pollution on to the most vulnerable residents.” Parts of Dulwich Village have been turned in to almost a gated community where there is no traffic, meanwhile all the extra goes on to the main roads where poorer people typically live. A disgusting policy, frankly. Let them eat car fumes?
  9. The problem is the council potentially running out of money, going "bankrupt" and having to file a section 114 notice. The solution is the CPZ...
  10. I found it pretty similar to Semas and Sea Master, decent, the one thing that put me off is they don't seem to do small portions of mushy peas. Just big expensive ones. Good to have options I guess.
  11. You can own part of it... https://www.google.com/search?q=chipotle+stock+price Better than private equity ownership ?
  12. The Castle does beer for less than £4 a pint and about 200m up the road.
  13. There isn't a solution other than blocking the noise out somehow. Hard in this weather if you have windows open. Realistically impossible to get rid of them without other collateral damage and hunting them through the night doesn't seem too probable or possible in a City like London!
  14. Can HGVs still go down Lordship lane? What's the risk meant to be?
  15. That is what they want essentially is it not? The post loses money I think, so they make the service abysmal and that encourages us to not use it?
  16. Chipotle is going where Hisar was..: https://www.dcl.co.uk/news/chipotle-secures-site-on-lordship-lane-east-dulwich/
  17. That would be well timed! Logically if they had to dig up LL to any extent surely it should be done over the summer? Unless that's impossible for some reason without doing TR first.
  18. That might be true but you're allowed to genuinely unload in a cpz area and if they bothered to appeal they'd likely win. How could a council make it so no one could get any kind of delivery without the delivery can getting a ticket?
  19. It was around the corner before in the main part of Herne Hill before they redid those units. It's another sign of the times unfortunately.
  20. Sign of the times sadly...
  21. The problem is the council are running short of revenue and the solution is to put in paid parking in the areas that don't have it already? It's as simple as that, isn't it ? Anyone got the council budget and actual numbers, for the current financial year, or where can we see it?
  22. For ULEZ complaint vehicles it's a £225 hit for every vehicle annually for the permit, £300 for non compliant. Just what everyone needs with the cost of living crisis and incipient recession. That's £225/300 that can't be spent elsewhere obviously... My guess is the council probably either have to make huge cuts or run out of cash if they can't get this parking money in. Their expenses will have increased like every entity and the fines from the LTN and school street traps (expect the new ones on Adys road etc) will have dried up largely now.
  23. Is it possible to get access to the money generated from the various parking and other schemes from the council somehow ?
  24. It's obviously a cash grab. LTN fine money drying up probably? No reason for controlled parking in my part of ED. Can see see Southwarks budget publicly somewhere and where all the money is going?
