  1. Almost seems like the now closed local delivery office on Silvester Road was a key piece of infrastructure... Got a birthday card sent 1st class 6 weeks late and magazines from a month ago... First post in weeks!
  2. Also on Goodrich and not seeing much if anything...
  3. Closing the local sorting office continues to work like a charm.... Strikes making it even worse.
  4. Poundland Local indeed, like having Woolies back? Who said we're not going back to the 70s..?
  5. Checks out, store 9003... Amazing how many there used to be. http://www.woolworthsmuseum.co.uk/Directory/Woolworth-StoreList-1972.pdf
  6. That location was the DSS originally? Tell me I'm wrong?
  7. Their reviews look really good to me? They've got on Google, Facebook and Trustpilot. Personally I wouldn't put much stock in trustpilot (or tripadvisor) reviews. Lots of companies don't use them due to how they do business.

    Gas bill

Did you get a photo of the meter when you moved in? Possibly you've been done over where someone has not given an accurate reading on prior move out and you're paying for what they used.

    Gas bill

Initial reading was probably wrong. Or something else using the supply.
  10. I've seen dogs go for the horses a year or two ago. Quite unpleasant, especially for the horses. It was on the outer ring though were I think dogs are allowed to be off leads.
  11. It probably won't taste the same, that is my guess. The expand to much, ruin the product and original core idea. It's a big chain now. I would say they're saving money, gas prices aren't exactly low though! Maybe it's easier to manage or something. Luckily, we're not short of other pizza options if the quality is diminished!
  12. Have to feel sorry for all businesses, especially small ones, in this awful economic environment. When you've got surging wages, power bills and all other inputs it's a recipe for serious trouble. People doing a runner without paying is just despicable, hopefully Lucas can find a way to make sure people pay without doing this somehow.
  13. Got post delivered circa 4am today! Anyone else have this?
  14. LTNs have silent majority support it seems from the elections. Probably because lots of people get quieter streets and the people getting fined, are the ones who don't know the area and therefore probably don't live and can't vote here..!
  15. Presumably the LTNs will rake the cash in today and tomorrow!?
  16. Just been on Lorsdship lane and it looks like Megan's is about to open? Still with the slightly confusing name. Then I also noticed that Joes Juice Bar & Coffee seems to be opening on the old Saucy site. Along with Pret near the station that is 3 extra..., can this trend be sustainable?
  17. Given fuel costs and the probable economic situation going forward, LTNs might become less of an issue because there will be much less traffic in any case.
  18. Yes it's Monday to Friday regardless of bank holiday or anything else! More ? on to the ?7m+ pile of fines... Chances of the council using that ?7m to reduce all our council tax?
  19. Yes must be cycle hangers, we had exactly the same on Goodrich.
  20. All of them pretty much, hard to keep things fresh season after season. Most serious TV shows decline badly after 7 seasons or so. Excluding soaps etc obviously.
  21. Not really, if you accept people are allowed to break the law then your previously civilised society won't be like that for much longer. Who gets to decide who is allowed to break which laws and for what reasons? 22. There is a nursery and a speed bump very close to there. Seriously reckless driving if really going anywhere near 40mph!
  23. The UK further turning in to lawless hellhole. No better than Catalytic converter theives. No excuse to break the law and damage people's property. Regardless of the cause, its a slippery slope to hell. For what cause is criminal damage acceptable and which not? The police probably won't do anything of course for any kind of crime of that nature. Hopefully whoever is responsible is caught and faces the full consequences of the law. Won't be holding my breath though.
  24. Would they be able to stand in this election as independents? 25. A functional police force is the solution, to catch and prosecute those responsible. The police just aren't interested in this kind of crime currently in my experience. They can steal them in broad daylight sometimes with pretty much total impunity.
