  1. Its a family pub alright - so if you don't have a family, don't even think about going there. Certainly not on a sunny Sunday afternoon. :)) Its mayhem.

  3. Celtic have a siging section too. Stop copying all our good ideas. ::o

I have checked back and actually got 18 to 1 so seems a more logical reduction now. I'm sure if quids were here he would tell me how to.hedge this.
  5. this is interesting as the commentator says before the game: "France are still experimenting - trying to find the back division that will recreate that traditional French flair...." Sounds familiar but 43 french points later....and after being 24-10 down. France triumph.
  6. ,
  7. Its just not fair......blub blub
  8. Or maybe Jah has "changed"...
  9. Is this still Jah's thread. My phone says jeannie.....
  10. I backed France from the start at 13 to 1. I'm a bit miffed that I could have waited until the final and still got 7s. I also for the record had a tenner on ireland before anyone asks how many other teams I backed. Think 4 to 1 might be more realistic odds for the final. France are the All Blacks world cup bogey team after all. They would probably rather have played Wales?
  11. I read alomost the whole of this thread before realising it was 3 years old. :( Now I have no idea if they still do a good breakfast.
  12. Is that you Declan ?
  13. Im expecting an upset tomorrow. The French back three to dance through the welsh defence.

Very good Declan. Nice to read.
  15. Relatively recent UK tax cases have focused on the management and control of offshore operations so its now much harder to have operations in offshore jurisdictions without a real legitimate presence there. Hence ensuring only legitimate operations benefit from the tax benefits of having operations there, otherwise UK taxes are payable. But you can't go around imposing higher taxes on legitimate operations in other countries. Funny enough the other jurisdictiont want to raise their revenues too. Most offshore tax havens are making agreements with other countries with whom they do business to ensure the operations there are legitimate ones. Channel Islands operations are now highly regulated.
  16. Cmon Ireland. Hopefully get a decent draw for the play offs.
  17. If you are buying any property at the moment then the.chances of the rental income being greater than the mortgage are very slim unless the.deposit is significant. Many buy to let landlords make an income loss initially but hope.for capital growth or rents increasing over time.
  18. I'm with JJF. Vineyards give you lovely tasting glasses which make the wine nice to look, smell and taste. If you choose the house wine in a caraffe with a couple of tumblers in a Paris bistro then its the cheap option.
  19. 10 on Ireland has home but 20 on France still in with a shout.
  20. We are agreed then declan. That's a first. :)) I'll take a week to get interested again. But this world cup has offered so much already and has more to offer too. The semi finals are mouthwatering.
  21. Soooo disappointed that Ireland did not make it through today. Wales' defence was undoubtedly fantastic but Ireland had a number of players who had a poor game, most importantly O Gara who missed a few key touch kicks. Mike Philipps try I think was the one that broke the hearts of the Irish team. Was really one where Ireland went to sleep and the Irish forwards, on seeing the backs let him through so easily, must have been a killer especially after they had just got back to 10-10. Wales third try also resulted from poor Irish defending - so in the end it was the defences that decided it.
  22. Oireland.......cmon

I don't know where you got that from DC. If its my post you are refering to, I was saying quite the opposite. Read more carefully.

  25. I'm saying in some countries the religion is effectively the law. You cannot change the historic religious writings. The writings are fixed and their interpretation is long ingrained. So long as the religion dominates the thinking of the powers that be, the law will reflect those religious writings. Religion is not something thats shifts easily. As a result there is little hope of a sudden change in perspective or law without a move to democracy. Apartheid changed with the help of the will of the world, but it was not supported by religion and therefore a statesman and his gvenment were able to bring about change on behalf of a country on a democratic basis.
