  1. Small bets on Mickleson and Leonard for the Masters as they seem both in reasonable form. Leaonard is 125/1 as he presumably has apoor masters record. Declan - Woods is 4/1 for the Masters. I'm amazed at this. If you want to lay something this may be your chance. I'm very tempted to lay this myself. In my view he is a broken man - but then he's proven to be unpredictable so who knows. Rory Mc is 55 on betfair - worth a few quid but no recent form.

Mine is better than a lot of lawns but definatley not a golf green. As for your lawn Quids - I'm sure its recoverable and I'm sure David would say that. There must be a recovery process that David would suggest but I think it might take more than one year. I did my own and dug up the old - created a new level base and turfed. It looked fantastic for the first summer but after that my experience is that a new lawn needs more looking after than an established lawn. That's my experience so far anyway. I was warned by a friend - he had gardeners in to lay a lawn just after they bought the house and it looked great but he told me that it would need lots of upkeep or a new lawn deterioriates more quickly. It might be easier to try recover the old lawn first? But if you fancy a couple month project, dig up the old and start again - then it feels good as its all your own work. Keeps you off the Stella too. Mick. [of course this is David's thread - just thought I'd let you know my experience :)]

  4. Its very good David - I like the lawn bits as my wife does the plants etc. But I'd like to know how to make a perfect surface like the professionals do - so don't worry about overloading us with lawn tips. Did the aerating last week and then overseeding with sand and soil and seed combo. Is it possible to put too much seed on a lawn as this is my latest tactic as the grass I see on golf courses is very dense and although cut short has no visible soil, almost carpet like. Also I have a lawn that looks flat generally but has lots of unevenness underfoot - I have never rolled the lawn - is rolling a good idea and does it make it flat or just compact it? Thanks,

  11. I thought when Henry came on tonight he might have a hand in a late goal, but fortunately not.....not again anyway.

Secretary is a great film. James Spader character is fantastic. Did he feel guilty?
  14. I'll vote for anyone who will give proper consideration to a decent girl's secondary school for ED. Primary schools are currently having to add more classes so in a few years the current crop of secondary schools will be bursting. And most of the "local" ones people generally refer me to are not in ED anyway. Is this a thread that Jonathan is going to give his comment on? If so what are Jonathan's views on this? Or is this just a thread for Amina to represent/promote him?
  15. Its interesting how the programme developed. Firstly she was a 3 and 4 year old genius. The talk of the art world. Then she was universally derided as a fraud after a "60 minutes" documentary showed her father as being involved in the paintings. Then she rebuilt her reputation. Then, after all that, she had her 5th birthday. At the end of the programme the Mother breaks down on film and says "why have we put our children through this". The father does not appear to agree.
  16. Modern Art - a 4 year old's paintings are sold for hundreds of thousands. She is being compared to Jackson Pollock. Does this say more about Marla Olmstead being a child prodigy or Jackson Pollock painting like a child? I'm watching "The Kid that could paint...Marla Olmstead" BBC4 tonight. Marla Olmstead

  20. He has always been keen on the Liverpool job. He hoped to get it when they took Rafa on but Liverpool were not interested in recruiting MON. They were probably still hurting over that Anfield UEFA cup thrashing he presided over at Celtic.

No grass on the pitch hard surface, harder ball.. amazing Frank managed to get the ball under control.
  24. I'm trying to remember if i'm 42 or 43. I'm probably at least middle aged if I can't remember how old I am.
