James Barber has focussed on repairs in the past - but I like to think that LL is now a caf? / al fresco hot spot. It needs a complete paving upgrade - using an architect not a repair man. I always think that if JB actually lived near LL things might be different - he's happier looking after Court Lane than Lordship Lane :)

Sorry HMB - no knowledge I can recommend buying the racing post - and in the Newmarket section of the form there will be a "selection box" which shows all the picks from the tipsters from each of the newspapers - you should get some winners from that.

My remember my first experience of interviews was the university milkround. Interviewer started looking out the window....sort of knew I wasn't going to get that one. Had another refusal from a company, that the company I work for now, ended up owning 20 years later. But I'd gotten over it by then.

Curry Club - Thursday 7 March 2019 - venue TBC
Mick Mac replied to Michael Palaeologus's topic in The Lounge
My wife has a booking that night - I'm beginning to learn that her social life has priority. Obviously ill be in touch if that changes. -
Victor says Spurs have arrived :) ?I think the club is up there with Celtic. It?s a big club and you can feel that in the dressing room. We have young players who want to work hard and who are very ambitious, which is a very good thing,? said the Kenya international on his new club.

Much as I like my phone, i'm against hot pursuits by police for a small item. Too may unfortunate 3rd party deaths when the criminals lose control under pursuit by police. There must be a smarter way to catch these people.

So we will have GBK , MeatLiquour and AN Other burger chain to be within 100 years of each other - I find that hard to understand/believe tbh

Some fantastic footage of Celtic's 13 year old who played for the under 20s last night.

'Le Chardon' changing hands/being sold
Mick Mac replied to Fitzgeraldo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Has anyone determined if this thread is a complete red herring or if there are actually plans to change hands / sell? -

'Le Chardon' changing hands/being sold
Mick Mac replied to Fitzgeraldo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
When I came to East Dulwich, Franklins, Tandoori Nights and Le Chardon were pretty much the only places we ate in. I'd like to use it more often but there are a lot of other options now. -
'Le Chardon' changing hands/being sold

I have always liked Le Chardon. Maybe i've been lucky but its generally been good when I have been there. I know others have not been so lucky. -
No bets on the Ryder Cup but well done to US.

Victor had a game today. Happy that Spurs got him but he was obviously quality 3 years ago at Celtic and could have had him sooner. Always thought MU were asleep on the job on that one RD.

I would not have done that bet myself AM. They looked down and out. But we'll done. The Rafa birdie at 17 must have felt good to you.

I suspect the Rodgers effect is seen as a positive one - eg Suarez credits him with making him a much better player. He's only 20 and to get Champions league at 20 is something he's likely to have wanted. And, its Celtic.... Dembele feels Celtic is the ideal place for him to progress. He told Celtic TV: ?I?m happy to be at a massive club like Celtic and I can?t wait to start scoring goals. ?To be the first signing of Brendan Rodgers is unreal for me. He told me that Celtic is a good team for me. I will have game time. I obviously have to show I can stay in the team. ?I think it?s a good way for me to progress, with a massive stadium and the fans and the city. Everyone lives for Celtic and it?s unbelievable for me to play for a massive club like this.?

Rodgers compares Moussa Dembele to a young Drogba : There?s no doubt about it. I worked with Didier at Chelsea and I think Moussa is of that ilk,? the former Swansea and Liverpool manager said. ?Didier came into Chelsea at 24 or something like that. This boy?s just turned 20. He?s still a baby. ?But he?s tough. You can see on nights such as Wednesday that he is a big reference for the team.? Bin men removing rubbish from bins
Mick Mac replied to callymarie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Not binmen but we had an issue with spillages of recycling and items not taken - and complained to Southwark; The environmental manager has confirmed that he visited your property and spoke with the crew, who informed him they had mistaken the recycling bags for refuse, in addition to not collecting the cardboard. The crew have been instructed that they must clear all spillages. The manager was pleased to find all of the waste was cleared. I understand that the manager also followed this up with a phone call to you. In light of your complaint, he has spoken to all of the crews who collect from your property and has reminded them of the high quality of service expected of them and that includes ensuring all collections are carried out as scheduled. In addition, he will be monitoring your site for the next two collections to ensure the crew are following his instructions in this regard. -

Think I called that about right - great game but unfortunately had to watch it with no sound in the Rye as a big group of fans watching the Arsenal game (on big screen with sound) tried to make a pub into a library.

I know that and took it as such, but I guess I do feel a bit of a snob for not wanting to go there because its a bit rough/salt of the earth in terms of clientele. My mate tonight is a good pal and Irish too. But he's a dedicated follower of fashion, so the Castle is not his thing either.

It was a commonly held view but actually it's a strange idea - There will never be enough money for everyone to have enough whilst doing very little for others. That's because money is a means of putting a value on what you can offer to someone else and by definition there needs to be barter and an ongoing supply of valuable goods and services.

You are in a minority, or trolling, one of the two.

The Castle is the nearest pub to me. But its a night out I want not just the football.... I like Lordship Lane and I like nice pubs with nicely presented people in them :0 I go to the Castle with my old irish builder mate for a Guinness occasionally but its not normally on my radar.

True. and if you don't have anything otherwise to achieve in a day, work will provide something. As Jah says you need an imagination. But if you don't have one, work thinks for you.

Thanks re Castle - but I have BT at home so would probably on this occasion rather watch it at home than the Castle..... Im meeting someone who isn't particularly a football fan so I'd hope that some of the lordship lane bars would show it. Matchpint says Actress and Rye are showing it. thanks tj
