  1. When we received the plans for this from the council they were supposed to put some road markings and signs in but it has always just looked like a half completed job. As I live on the corner of Spurling and Crawthew I am aware how many near misses there are and whilst a cyclist, I do understand why car drivers are surprised to see a bike coming down a one way street 'the wrong way'.
  2. Apparently the grove branch of William Rose was an overspill for refrigeration as the LL branch is so busy without enough capacity. I think the introduction of another good local butcher that cares about its provenance of its meat can only be great for the area in general. Local greens the weekly veg bag scheme are hoping to introduce a collection point at the Victoria very soon as well. So the Bellenden road area will be well covered food wise.
  3. Sorry I missed it. I ran out of steam!
  4. So this Thursday at draft house?
  5. The postman said that he must sleep in his car! Im no expert on how much a person urinates nor do I want to be. Just object to it being left on my doorstep!
  6. Probably not if they are a cab driver who spends his time pissing in his car!

  11. However because of subsidies we don't actually pay the correct cost of our food. We also proportionally spend less on food. At one point it was well over 35% of income and now sits about 15%. Sometimes affordability is taken out of ccontext. After all many people think nothing of spending monmobile mobile phone contact but complain about rising food prices. It is all about choice.
  12. Hi there The no potato bags generally have more expensive veg in them. Potatoes generally are cheaper and if not new potatoes then the farmers can store them when harvested. Maria

  14. I live a few doors down a d haven't received any info on this. Thanks for flagging this. I guess it does depend on how long the proposed refurb takes place. Scott who owns the bishop uses the forum so I am sure will soon comment on this?
  15. Re pruning figs. If an established tree you should prune in June time. At the moment just remove any small unformed fruit. Then tidy up again in spring.
