  1. I found baby no 1 quite hard, twins MUCH easier and the aftermath of the birth of number 4 was the hardest of all ... I had high blood pressure and other birth complications, baby wouldn't feed (later diagnosed with tongue tie) So it's not all about US and how well we cope or anything like that... there are objective factors to do with the birth and baby feeding which decide how difficult it all is

  3. I am hoping to do this but left a message and noone has called back yet...
  4. A pack of new sparkly socks? Could still have a sticker chart building up to a bigger prize but something immediate is good. Have you seen bunny ears clock to say when it's morning?
  5. Bribery yes.. but I think 5 days then a prize is too long. Can you have something more immediate like she chooses her fave cereal (maybe get those tiny boxes) if she sleeps in her bed Other tips I have seen (Elizabeth Pantley) include being allowed out of bed ONCE small mattress on your bedroom floor, if she wants to come in she gets in there without waking you
  6. Yes, it's a bit like being a shift worker trying to meet a new partner, really. And once you have a toddler, you can never have a conversation anyway! But it is well worthwhile making a good friend, the sort of person who will come round when you and your kid have been up all night with him puking, and help you get the house straight then watch him while you nap... the sort of friend when you go to your house you feel at home making yourself a cup of tea, and load their dishwasher while you're in the kitchen... I have two friends like that with children same age as my son no 1, but neither live locally or work part time.
  7. lm, ours are just the same!
  8. maybe try half banana ha;f apple!
  9. Now, I just need a similar recipe with apple or pineapple (son no 1 doesn't like bananas and will be miffed if we make a cake he can't eat!)
  10. My goodness! I feel obliged to road test them all, now. Though I think I have the ingredients in for the last. Candj, what's all purpose flour? Plain or SR?

  16. It's definitely worth using any management skills you may have (Said in gentle tones to screeching harridan with hair in a crows nest) "I can see you're feeling a bit stressed...." Every day say something nice "You wrap those stinky nappies so neatly..."
  17. Ruth, have you just been back and forth to the GP? if in doubt, take him to Kings a&e and see a paediatrician.
  18. Various things run at Dulwich College and Jags I suspect Southwark Council's activities will be severely truncated this year
  19. Getting up at night then staying at home all day with kids is no less tiring then getting up and going to work
  20. If the baby won't settle at night, take it for a drive or walk and when you get back, swear blind it slept the whole time...
  21. Would def be up for getting together in the park or sandpit on sats once the weather looks up. Atm we hang out Saturdays at Little Rascals softplay in Bellingham if anyone fancies it... is very good for toddlers, not too big. Not very flashy but does the trick.
