  1. In short, I woudn't really judge a school on its SATS, especially given the widespread boycott last year. Things like atmosphere and ethos, competent and committed staff, involvement of parents are the sort of things that make a school, IMO
  2. Definitely, radnrach. The main hormone released by bf is oxytocin the "love" hormone... sudden drop will make you feel sad and emotional.
  3. Here's the tables for 2010 http://www.education.gov.uk/performancetables/primary_10.shtml It's not really possible to draw conclusions from a dip in school results in one year - the cohort of pupils is different each year Furthermore, if 77 pupils sat the tests, then the no of pupils achieving Level 4 in Eng/Maths to give 73% is 56.2 (56) and to give 71% is 54.7 (55) so the results of 1 or 2 pupils can cuuse the apparent drop Btw, I know very little about Goodrich, this is just a comment looking at the data (I have some knowledge of schools' attainment data) Notes on the tables: http://www.education.gov.uk/performancetables/primary_10/p4.shtml and CVA http://www.education.gov.uk/performancetables/primary_10/p1.shtml I don't know how the stats in 2010 were skewed by 25% of schools boycotting the tests...

  9. Mrs Lotte, that is value added, yes, but there is also a measure of CONTEXTUAL value added which compares pupil progress with pupils nationwide with similar demographics (ethnicity, SEN etc)
  10. You can get a bus, as I was introduced ro it by the mum of one of DS1's schoolfriends, and she goes by bus. It is not huge and snazzy, but the staff are friendly, and it's very straightforward if you are managing twin toddlers, with regard to parking, loos, cup of tea etc and it's small enough you do't lose them easily. Let's swap mobile nos via PM?
  11. http://www.londonforkids.net/boroughs_london/bellingham_leisure_centre.htm It's not particularly flashy but is quite cheap (take a utility bill and join up to get reduced entry) but it's goo for toddlers and easy parking in car4 park (pay and display, quid or so) I will go Mon and WEds as taking no 1 child and a friend of his and delivering him to the playscheme. I will prob be there from about 9.30 till 11.30 or 12, might have lunch but it's chips etc
  12. I hope she's better soon. I promise they are very skilled at it... if you get an appt for it you get seen in a special place and they put lots of the numbing cream on then hve someone to distract with bubbles and stuff... all 3 of mine have had blood tests at various points, some in a and e, and they haven't freaked out
  13. It IS hormones that loosen the ligaments, so MW is right. I had similar pain (sacro-iliac joint) and the good news is physio fixed it!
  14. It actually said something about new procedures, I am guessing it's about closing part of the area if someone vomits again? Seems to be in response to complaints, anyway. I didn't have time to read everything on the noticeboard, but that was the gist
  15. Will be taking my almost 3yo twins to softplay at Bellingham on Mon and Weds am, and to CP One o'c club probably Friday... if anyone wants to meet up?
  16. There is a sign up, and new regime to ensure cleanliness
  17. I got referred to an acute clinic at Kings and offered an appt within a week (the second time I had pain in pg, the first time ended up on a much slower referral route) ASk your GP for referral to the acute clinic.
  18. Gussy, how did thia turn out?
  19. Fridays my twins are at creche.. I would be up for socialising if it's between 10>12 but can't do tomorrow.
  20. I would be up for a morning then... Mons and Thursdays are good for me
  21. I fear that well organised middle class parents, religious groups and education "companies" will use this route to grab a slice of the (likely to be increasingly) limited education "pot"
  22. There are 38 weeks of attendance, 190 days
  23. 3pm is a bad time for me (school pick uop is 330) Any chance of a morning?
