  1. Found some info about this the other day.. don't agree with all of this site but links are interesting: http://www.babysleepsite.com/newborns/newborn-sleep-baby-tips-10/ site is very practical THis is re night feeding: http://www.babysleepsite.com/sleep-training/night-feedings-by-age-when-do-you-night-wean/ and 4 month sleep regression http://www.babysleepsite.com/how-we-sleep/4-month-old-sleep-regression/
  2. I measured really small with the last baby, and fluid wasn't low... he was normal sized both on the scans and at birth.
  3. let's not mention the twin mistaking sibling's poo for chocolate raisins...
  4. Sure nothing tops the time toddler twin II's nappy fell pff at the bottom of the slide at Goose Green and she did a poo on the ground.. size of a small cucumber. Children gathered to point and marvel "Is poo!"
  5. Always wearing white when you decide to get them pasta with tonato sauce in a cafe Always wearing long sleeves when they spot waterplay...
  6. There is one who posts on here sometimes but probably not etiquette for me to post her name!! I will msg her to highlight your request
  7. Yes, breastmilk hAS ALWAYS Done THE TRICK FOR US (COULD USE IT ON YOURSELF TOO)
  8. Google says Optrex infected eyes is chloramphenicol .. so actually you could prob try it while waiting for appt (shouldn't have to wait for appt!!)
  9. fusidic acid is what we were px but can also be chloramphenicol i think
  10. i don't think i would risk otc.
  11. Darrell Rd community ctre has an outdoor space (next to DMC)
  12. I think if you can tailor your activities to what is reasonable to expect from a child that age (so a brief trip to a child friendly cafe where it's Ok to run around a bit is OK, expecting them to sit for an hour in starbucks isn't) will reduce the need to offer chocolate etc +
  13. I think it's useful to differentiate between a manipulative tantrum "little nero" where ignoring is the best policy and an emotional meltdown due to the child'a inability to express themselves/control their emotions where they need help to calm themselves. Those sorts of tantrum are more common and it is kinder i think to hold them and articulate their feelings then distract them. "I know you're feeling very cross you can't empty that cupboard. Shall we play with your train instead?" sort of thing Margot Sunderland's book Science of Parenting is good on this http://hubpages.com/hub/Tantrums---is-Your-Child-Truly-Distressed-or-Acting-Up I would try to avoid giving sweets when this occurs in public, sets a bad precedent!
  14. This says immunity from CP in babies is from placenta not bf http://www.kellymom.com/health/meds/vaccine-protection.html
  15. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/3643888/Chickenpox-vaccine-is-bad-for-children.html Against http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8557236.stm For...
  16. http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1032.aspx?CategoryID=62&SubCategoryID=63 "The chickenpox vaccine is not part of the UK childhood vaccination programme, because experts think that introducing a chickenpox vaccination for children could increase the risk of shingles in older people"
  17. Someone told me if you have had CP you then pass immunity on while you're breastfeeding, orotecting the baby (worked for me for DS1!) but not if you have had the jab rather than CP instead. Not sure if that's true or not
  18. Scamps at DCPS I think it is Team up with another mum and do a couple of weeks each
  19. DS1 had sepvax but no mumos, then had MMR at about aged 5. Twins had MMR at aged 2, separate to the 12m vaccs. I prefer to space all the vaccs out a bit compared with the official schedule, 2 or 3 needles smacks of gulf war syndrome somehow to me
  20. Ina May Gaskin recommends it and my independent midwives had women who too it with success. I think if the alternative was automatic CS, and I didn't think I would puke it up, I'd consider it seriously. Nothing to lose really...
  21. I looked in to this, what I found was that it is effective... but I wasn't keen, sounded like it would be unpleasant to have the runs (though I guess they would pass quickly)
  22. I think it's very telling that even women who bf often go "yuck" at the idea of drinking it, while we don't think twice about drinking the milk of cows.

  24. an event at the adventure playground, js33, search posts by kateland for details
  25. James, what I meant was, while I agree with you that if Labour are adding to reserves then they must be making larger cuts than are necessary, it can't really be said these are Labour cuts opposed by libdems/tories given the political trajectory of the current government.
