  1. Is he gaining weight though? You could get his latch checked in case a problem there is causing excessive intake of air... a spot of cranial osteopathy might help
  2. You could try elminating some foods from your diet (dairy is a particular one) bu t it's not easy to do and I think a lot of nroaml baby fussiness gets put down to the mother's diet, unfairly Harvey Karp book Happiest baby on the Block (and videos on you tube) are also good re colic/crying
  3. Also: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,617865,617865#msg-617865 (re crying babies)
  4. http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/gassybaby.html Mine went through this, has was terribly uncomfortable and we would try winding him as he burped and farted.. ot wasn't even poo related.|Seems to have laregylapssed now though if he wakes with a shout part way into a sleep, oit's invariably wind. You could try propping his head slightly as he sleeps. Or a swing can be useful if he is very unsettled and you are getting worn out holding and rocking. Some peopel swear by infacol (makes bubbles clump together) but it's not proven to work oops excuse rubbish typing on iphone!
  5. Fussiness in the evening: http://www.kellymom.com/babyconcerns/fussybaby.html
  6. Don't think water will be needed, unless the poo is hard and dry. Veyr unlikely on breatsmilk. Is the poo yellow, ort green? green poo means too much sugary foremilk, can make them gassy
  7. Mcalpine got my vote for pure friendliness and a website that didn't have loads of rules and regulations on! Parking is easy though there is no proper waiting area for parents (small space only) the teachers were lovely, really really nice. What class will your dauighter be in, FM? Mine is starting in Sats 10am preprimary.
  8. A bf baby won't be constipated, and it doesn't sound like he is. I'm afraid newbabies do struggle rather with their digestion,.. it seems terribly uncomfortable with a lot of farting and grunting and squealing. Best solutions I hav efound are bf on demand (feeding actually helps them poo) plus a warm bath and cycling their legs, gently massaging their tummies. But to a certain extent you just have to rid eit out I'm afraid. I'd avoid giving orange juice, it's quite allergenic.
  9. My recent baby was transverse until 36w when he went breech.. was booked for an ECV but he was transverse on the day,. he was turned anyway and stayed head down
  10. I am not a fan of the sleep training industry, but I quite like this article http://www.babysleepsite.com/baby-sleep-support/baby-wont-sleep-your-fault/
  11. I just have mine next to me in bed so although he wakes frequently my sleep isn't too disrupted. Have done that with all mine and it works for us though the evil day arrives eventually when the night time milk bar has to close and (oddly!) toddlers aren't so happy at the news... for now though new baby F and I are muddling along quite happily.
  12. The doors open at 10.30, there is a queue and the tickets for the 10.30 and (is it 1115 or 1130?) sessions both went immediately. There is one later session. WE got our tickets then had a look round the aquarium beforehand

That's true. It was my haematologist who told me that and he's not the expert in HRT itself, after all. In fact, if HRT only replaced the oestrogen that I have atm, i would be no more at risk than I am now. I had to take bloodthinners all through my pregnancies, if I fly, etc
  14. Babies do enjoy the aquarium at Horniman
  15. Kadde, she would like the songs but prob not appreciate the craft but I have a 3m old and 2 toddlers so you could borrow one!
  16. Even at 15m, which is when I stopped expressing and switched to cows milk for daytimes if I wasn't about, my twins never took more than 5oz ebm at a time.
  17. have buggy weights on front of my buggy
  18. My 13 week old is waking every 1-2h as well atm, if that makes you feel better!
  19. Are you breastfeeding? Feeding actually encourages them to poo then and there... but if she is pooing regularly at night ther emight be a bit of day/night confusion that you could improve a little by having it bright in the day, dark at night etc, bath before bed (you prob do that alreaxy) Ad a baby gets older its sleep patterns change. newborns drop straight into deep sleep, later on they get adult sleep patterns, cming into light sleep every 45-90 mins. It sounds like she is waking every time she comes into light sleep. Now is the time to encourage her to self settle if possible and encourage sleep associations (use of a mobile, blankie, quiet music etc Also (re brain development/wonder weeks/sleep regression) http://moxie.blogs.com/askmoxie/2006/02/qa_what_are_sle.html http://blogginaboutbabies.wordpress.com/2009/04/08/wonder-week-19/
  20. I must admit knowing I won't have the choice is a bit worrying. I had night sweats for a month after our baby was born in December and it wa sno joke, changing pyjamas and sheets 5 times a night.... really
  21. Session at horniman, free, with a few songs and some art/crafts
  22. Dunno but twin II is starting at McAlpine on Saturday, they are very friendly and she loved the trial class
  23. Read this and it scared me: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/jan/22/menopause-mother-family-oestrogen Wouldn't be able to take hRT due to history of DVT/blood clotting disorder
  24. Oh SB, how brave you must have been! I have tears in my eyes thinking about it. And I thought my recent birth and weeks before and after were a bit epic... handholding by the same fab independent midwives being our common feature, eh?
