  1. Have been diving there... it's a nice place and nice beaches. Afraid i didn't notice much about family facilities...
  2. And naomi Stadlen: what mothers do (when they do nothing at all) which is about how much of mothering is just "being"
  3. It's age 6 and over now... for babies you can buy a simple linctus is all
  4. I harp on about how fantastic the twins birth was and how i loved every newborn minute... yet this latest baby I found myself in despair at one point thinking he would never feed, at a time when I was still on BP meds (and turned out had a chest infection AND a UTI) so it proves you can have a totally different experience each time.
  5. Oooh, any invites much appreciated!
  6. Can someone update me? Baby came on 4th DEcember... just beginning to get my act together
  7. You might find ointment easier, we did
  8. http://www.multimac.co.uk/3_child_car_seat
  9. Lesflet says below 2 units a day alcohol is ok
  10. there is a sort of huge 3 seat car seat thing you can buy that straps into the back of a car i forget what its called though costs quite a lot
  11. I think you might be able to start to donate at 6m+ if you intend to bf/express for a long time. Nothing wrong with the older milk, just many mums stop bf soon after 6m so the life of the donor would be short
  12. Where is the camera?
  13. I just rang and the phone was answered (7.30am!) They will drop round some bottles to me today and I will do the forms and have blood taken next week when I am up at Kings anyway. Alcohol wasn't mentioned, questions were about prevoous blood transfusions, or if I am on medication.
  14. Do you need long day chilcare sort of nursery? Or a few mornings a week starting to get independent sort of nursery?
  15. So probably the bad sleep was initially linked to allergy (she doesn't have any now?) and as you say, she is currently wanting milk at night. Unless you want to reintroduce the night feed and night wean later, I'd be inclined to ask DH to try the 12-3 session, obviously you trying to comfort her isn't working... Some routine to the day, good calm bedtime routine, plenty to eat, and if possible good naps, will all improve night time sleeping. But you know, I'd check there is no medical problem/allergy
  16. How are her naps? Was she so wakeful pre night weaning?
  17. Ruth_Baldock Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- . she said 'Don't think about > 'opening like a beaaaaaaaaaauuuutiful flower' My Independent MW said the pics of flowers in the lab ward at Kings are supposed to be reminiscent of genitalia opening...
  18. I guess in this era of cuts most free museums/activities will become chargeable
  19. Community midwives
  20. Karter, no.. is dx due to feeding problems (poor latch, fussiness, very painful, clicking sound, poor weight gain) though some ties are easy to see. Little F also has a very short chin, actually it's obvious that when he was first born (6lb 8) his little mouth wasn't going to manage it There are lots of problems can cause difficulty with latching on, best advice is to get good help, early on. Not all Mws are expert, bf cafes/go direct to infant feeding coordinators at Kings is the best advice. Having a breast pump and syringe to hand can avoid needing to use formula in the early days if it's not going well, id you'd prefer not to
  21. I would go for it if either have offered you. I think they both do similar ... ante and postnatal care plus homebirth or attend you in hospital (is that right the Lanes do that?)
