  1. Hi Jenny, my daughter is at the same nursery as yours and whereas at home she naps around 8.30-10.00, at nursery she still has a morning nap but its later and shorter. I think just because there's so much going on and babies will always do things slightly differently when not at home!
  2. Hi, I won't be able to make a Nov one but could come along in Jan - how about Weds 11th?
  3. I have recently gone back part time after 9 months, so not quite the same situation as you. The first week was hard - I was not used to getting us both up and out in the mornings and found it very tiring, I missed my daughter and worried all day about how she was getting on at nursery (she was getting on absolutely fine!) and we all came down with the dreaded nursery bugs. But three weeks in its getting much easier and we are getting into our new routine. I loved maternity leave, but there are good things about work, like quiet lunchtimes to myself, being in the buzz of central London and of course money! Also I can see that my daughter gets a lot out of her nursery days so that's a big plus. So I am slowly finding the balance, I'm sure you will too. Good luck!
  4. Lovely meeting everyone, a great night of wine, chips and good conversation. Thanks Yak for organising x
  5. Its Tues 9.30-12.30, it used to be Weds but changed a few months ago.
  6. At home - probably obvious but DVD boxsets or lots of stuff recorded, keep it fairly light though! Also if you like to read, a Kindle is great because it makes it really easy to read one-handed whilst you are bf.
  7. Also these concerts every month are great: http://www.classicswithmybaby.com/dulwich/
  8. We tried Busy Bees at the Horniman this morning and really liked it - half an hour of singing, stories and playing tambourines. And free!
  9. Went to Peckham Pulse soft play yesterday and my daughter had a great time. Sessions are on the hour and ?2, and there's a separate area for under 3s.
  10. Its not though is it? Both are 1:3 ratio for under twos.
  11. Hi wd152. Your initial post was a little intimidating so its good to have to backstory! I agree with ClareC though, the conversation about child related topics is often an ice breaker. Also people at baby groups are often more "colleagues" to start with and so naturally talk about their current job of looking after a baby, and compare notes. But you can move on to become friends over time. So hang in there, you will find plenty of cool mums in ED.
  12. Hi stina, there's a drop-in class every Monday at 11am at the Francis Peak Centre in Dulwich Park, you take the baby with you. Its kundalini yoga, the teacher is on the forum as lauramcdora so if you do a search for her you should find more info.
  13. To go back a few posts...I LOVED Away We Go, watched when 6 months pregnant, same as the main character and really identified with her! Maggie Gyllenhall great as the militant mum.
  14. I will be there, will try to make it to edt, otherwise see you at surma x
  15. I'm surprised as well as go there most weeks in a group of mums and babies and have always had good service. Its a great space and always seems to be loads of kids in there!
  16. Hi itchy feet. Firstly you will quite likely feel much better physically by the 12 week mark so hang in there! Why is going on ML scary? There's loads of mum and baby stuff to do in Dulwich and you will be off over the summer so you might really like it - keep an open mind. Re nurseries I would just visit the ones closest to you and put the baby's name down if you like them, if it doesn't work out you can go for the childminder option which you wouldn't have to arrange until much further down the line.
  17. How about Jaflong or Surma, have you been to those recently?
  18. Hi Clare, there should be a thread on here called the summer babies club if you do a search, as the name suggests its a group of mums with June, July, August babies. Also Bumps & Babes Goose Green on Monday mornings, baby massage in Ivydale centre Weds I think, mum & baby cinema at Peckham and Brixton cinemas.
  19. Hello, I would like to come along please, hope to make it to the EDT but if not see you in the curry house x
  20. Ok, I will send an email around later. Yes Lu I already have yours as well as Emmas and Paulas, others please can you pm me or post on the thread. Cheers, sue x
  21. Hi all, Was wondering whether we should switch to an email list for those still interested in meeting up. As there will be a new winter babies club starting up soon! What do you think? Sue x
  22. Hey there...the baby is a little unsettled today so I don't think I will make it after all, sorry. But hope to be there at the next one xx
