  1. Hmmm, might give it a miss then. I hate NY eve - everyone puts so much in to it and has such high expectations. I always end up disappointed. Bah humbug!!

    I did wonder...

    Goose

I know I'll get shot down in flames for this, but you'll probably be able to get one from Sainsburys. We always find that they're reduced after Christmas, as most people prefer turkey. We went out for Christmas lunch, but has a beautiful roast goose on Boxing day. :))
  4. Cheers Alan Dale :)-D I'm not getting involved in the other side of this debate. I'll probably bump in to you in a pub at some point watching a game, whilst drinking beer. ;-)
  5. Ha ha - I knew what you meant. ;-) Is everywhere charging to get in? I fancy a cheap (ish) night out locally and refuse to pay to get in anywhere! Was thinking of staying local until about 11, then heading to the South bank for the fireworks, with a couple of bottles of fizz. Anyone else done this before?
  6. Oh crikey Xanthe - what have you started? ;-)
  7. I agree re Ronaldo. When we played Manure the other week, I'd totally forgotten that he was on the pitch as we just didn't allow him to play. I hate to say this, but I can really see it being Utd's season. I'd actually rather that the Gooners won it, as Utd are about to match our league record. :( Like Keef though, part of me has gone off Arsenal for the very reasons he has mentioned.
  8. Couldn't agree more re' some girls feigning an interest. It does my head in when I see girls at the game all dolled up to the nines, because they're obviously on the pull. They should stop wasting tickets because there are actually people who want to watch the game. In fact, I think we're probably in agreement here and I should just shut up. I'd hate to be thought of as a ladette though........
  9. messageRe: Does anyone here keep chickens? new Posted by: Alan Dale Today, 04:52PM And rats. Free range organic eggs are really cheap. Free range organic chicken is really cheap. ======================================================================================= Ha ha - don't you mean cheep?! ;-)
  10. Ha ha brilliant. Cheer up Atila, you never know - you might bump in to one of us in the Magdala one day. Liverpool did, on Saturday what Utd and Arsenal have done quite a few times this season. When we thump teams its because they were crap and when we get a late goal its because we have been very lucky (well according the pundits anyway). I seem to remember the late goal winner/equaliser happening on a few occasions this season not only to Utd but also Arsenal. I believe that is often how trophies are won. Answer this honestly Atila - do you really think you'll win the league this season? I'm not trying to goad or take the piss, I'm just interested :)
  11. Hmmm, not sure that it's a "routine" Alan Dale. I just like to go out for a drink with my mates and I find the whole ladette and beer swilling thing quite offensive. You can still be girly and like booze and football. Everyone has a different type - which is good, because if we all liked the same it would be a nightmare. I personally find someone who I know is predicatble and nice great to start off with, but I know within a month or two I'll be bored. Thats my problem though, so now I don't bother as I just end up pissing the nice guys off.
  12. I'm probably not the best person to ask, having "dumped" my last two boyfriends for exactly the same reason. Sorry Xanthe, but I would assume that the cliche "It's not you - it's me" was probably mentioned at the end? Some of us girls are (admittedly feckin' stoopid) not in to all that romance and schmalz and would prefer a bloke to be a bit more, well blokey. It does my head in when I know more about football than the fella I'm seeing and could probably drink him under the table. For some reason, some of us prefer the bar stewards and aren't prepared to settle for what we might view as second best. A lot of my mates are happily loved up, but I'm not so sure that happy is the correct word. I sincerely believe that some people have a life plan, whereby they feel that certain goals/ambitions should be achieved by a certain time in their life. I reckon some people "settle" down because they are doing exactly that. Settling..... I'm not prepared to settle for anyone who I don't feel is right for me. Will probably be single forever but I'll more than likely be happier that way! Probably not been very helpful - sorry about that! Get down the pub and have a few beers. :)-D P.S Ladygooner - that is soooo Sex and the City. I like it. ;-)
  13. Re: Football Focus Posted by: atila the gooner December 24, 10:51AM Truth hurts. =============================================================================== Does it?! >:D< I'm sorry, but when I saw the Pompey and Spurs results today, the first thing I thought of was this forum. This is why I NEVER post results for my team and have a pop at the others. Always comes back to bite you on the arse.
  14. Nowt like a smug gooner.... :-S
  15. Our result was pretty good, and was definitely worth spending 6 hours on the train for. :)) Not sure what game Pompey were playing, but hopefully we can get maximum points over xmas.
  16. Lets just see shall we.....
  17. I thought that Keef and I were the only people around our age group. It's good to know there a few others :)-D
  18. Here you go
  19. Check out the favourite TV memories thread. I posted a you tube link on there a few weeks ago. I loved it too! :))
  20. "Cookwank" Simply brilliant and I laugh silently to myself everytime I go past one of those shops.....
  21. Yaye - I am going to the Chavski v Pool game tonight :)-D It had better be a good one! :-))
  22. You both sound surprised...?::o
  23. Jah - I'm liking this darling thing. Twice in one week! I think it's because I think you're 32 ;-)
  24. To be brutally honest (ooh I say that a lot too!) I've been posting on here since April this year. At first I found it horrendous and thought I'd be intruding if I posted in between the chit chat that and general discussion. So I can see how it can be seen as a bit intimidating. I think that you just need to get stuck in and not care. Have made some good mates in ED from this forum (you know who you are ;-)). Lozzyloz - couldn't agree more, except I don't think Jah has shouted at me. Yet....
  25. Fella is great - it's definitely Scouse! :)-D
