  1. I can see you!
  2. This is the sort of problem being addressed by those of us involved in planning missions to colonise extraterrestrial habitats. The general view is that a fledgling economic system somewhere between a tribal village community and a monastic order represents the best option for the fair apportionment of resources amongst pioneer colonists. For various reasons we avoid calling it communism.

On here I mean, not some other life The writing style seems awfully familiar - I'm sure someone else was posting in a similar style in the past but I don't have the time or the motivation to search the archives looking for a match.

Just being pedantic: the peppered moth is an example of rapid natural selection rather than rapid genetic evolution - it must have taken a very long time for the peppered moth to evolve into a single species with two colour schemes.
  5. Cinemas project onto a reflective screen with low or no ambient lighting - the effect is better than a TV screen, in my opinion. Also, the eye is very adaptive. It depends on whether you mind having the lights turn down or off while watching?

When the fuel is made from atmospheric carbon (e.g. a bio-fuel) then burning it produces no net increase in CO2 levels. The process simply recycles atmospheric carbon - and is referred to as sustainable or green.
  7. It's called 'fluttering' - supposed to be alluring: for greater effect, they coat their lashes with thick, black goo that makes them look longer - or so they are led to believe. Price to weight - the black goo is probably the most profitable product on the planet.

  9. I always give something if I can. I don't mind the occasional scammer if it means a genuine person in need is helped - even once. It's only money.
  10. I guess 5005 just doesn't cut it - damn!
  11. No offence - just setting up squiddels for a 400 - I know how much he likes them.

  13. I see we're down to the scratchings...?
  14. uzzy112 - tell us something about yourself: what's your story, how do you fit into this campaign?

its doing my head in Didn't stop you from reaching out to us for advice, though - did it?
  16. Please report for duty Narnia - your number is up!
  17. Maybe he was Jewish ... Actually, under Talmudic Law (see: The Mishnah by Pinhas Kehati, page 31), there is a limit beyond which an exception is recognised in respect of certain prohibited foods: it is usually an amount 'less than the bulk of an olive'. I'm not sure whether that ruling applies in this case, though. I've seen lots of people buy a single tomato, onion or piece of fruit. If that's all one needs, why buy more? Perhaps the guy is on a strict one-rasher-a-day diet?
  18. If one must share a refrigerator, how about storing one?s perishable goodies in one of those lockable nets that are supposed to protect backpacks from pilfering when checked-in as flight baggage?
  19. Anyone else get a weird tingly feeling in the knees whenever the guy looks down? It always freaks me out in real life but it's quite a pleasant experience when watching from an armchair safely planted on terra firma. I could get to like it.
  20. I find a spray of plain water knocks down most flying insects for long enough to deal with them as one's conscience dictates. I put them outside - don't like killing anything unless it's absolutely unavoidable.
  21. Never mind what I'm on - the BIG question is: What is Daizie on?
  22. Mick Mac - I?d wager more goes on behind the scenes than on the public part of the forum ? some of the girlies are at it all night long ? comparing sizes, no doubt.
  23. If they were all one-night stands, that's almost exactly three-years' worth of having one's brains shagged out - go Daizie!
