And at least 23 properties for sale between ?1.3 - ?2.35M. How come properties in Peckham are more expensive than East, West and North Dulwich and Forest Hill??
-
but it has been going on for years there.

Admin, Sorry, just doing a bit of thread bumping

I got fed up with Sainsburys DKH over charging on a regular basis, that only use that store rarely and then only specific items.

Agree the IBF title is probably the weakest belt, I'd like to see him in against Haye, thinking the outcome would be different, only time will tell. As said above his opponents will be well picked to get some defences under his belt before he tries one of the other heavy weight champions. As Joshua said, it is only a 1/4 of the way there. Lets see how far he can go.

Southwark Plans for Camberwell Old & New Cemeteries.

hopone - Use of language is hugely important, it is the basis of written communication. When I wrote what I did, I did so as I did not want to offend anyone, clearly I was wrong and I apologise to you again. However parody is "an imitation of the style of a particular writer, artist, or genre with deliberate exaggeration for comic effect" so you were having a laugh at my expense. -
Joshua just beat Charles Martin in 2 rounds to become the new IBF heavyweight World champion.

Southwark Plans for Camberwell Old & New Cemeteries.
dbboy replied to Penguin68's topic in The Lounge
hopone - not at all, how am I causing disagreement or hostility between people? Its an opinion and I had NO intention to cause any offence to anyone. I said tree anti burial, NOT anti tree mob. To be honest I feel you're reply is heavy handed and un-warrented. -

Totally agree, a vast improvement, however I fear those living opposite and the tree anti burial mob are likely to complain. I was hoping this thread had finally passed over, but its been resurrected. -
Property prices cooling in ED?
dbboy replied to cantthinkofaname's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Agents are out to achieve the highest price possible for the vendor. For every ?1000 the buyer pays the vendor the agent gets ?10 based on a 1% commission, so based on a property sold for ?750,000 the agent gets ?7500. i.e. ?10,000 for a property sold for a ?1000000 -
Property prices cooling in ED?
dbboy replied to cantthinkofaname's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
A property is only worth what a buyer is willing to pay. The vendor can either accept the offer, go through a period of negotiation or wait for a higher offer. I suppose it comes down to how much the buyer wants the property and long the vendor is willing to wait for a buyer at the price they want to sell at. -
Property prices cooling in ED?
dbboy replied to cantthinkofaname's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Spoke with an agent yesterday who told me that their are more buyers then properties available which is resulting in prices remaining high as buyers want to live in the area and so are willing to pay a premium to do so. -
I get you're upset and angry at the response you have had to your petition which has been clearly demonstrated with the posts you have been making. As you are saying it is a campaign, can I ask AGAIN what the objective of the campaign now is?
-
So it's moved from petition to campaign, can I ask what the objective of the campaign now is?

The thread that just keeps on giving.

Very sad to hear Nick Blackwell is in an induced coma after suffering a bleed on the brain following last nights brutal fight with Eubank Jnr. I hope he makes a recovery but fear he'll not box again. Ref should have called it off MUCH earlier.

Yas, yes Pauline's consortium are tendering, it will be interesting to see who the council award the contract too. In Southwark, they appear to be continuing to provide a library service, shame Lewisham cannot replicate this.
-
Unfortunately Lewisham Council have already said they are withdrawing funding for the library service as they are with two others in the borough. A tendering process is in progress and the new organisation will start to run the library from June/July this year. A whole thread about this is on SE23.com. I envisage an organisation with current experience of running community libraries are likely to be awarded a contract. This all derives from local authorities funding being reduced by central Government to reduce the National debt. And as regrettable as this is, due to what the last but one Administration did to the UK's finances, the people (everyone) is going to experience the consequences. This is not party political, it is a consequence of what happened. This is not about those who have against those that do not have, it is everybody who is being affected in some way or other. And for the record I believe Osborne is totally Unjustified in penalising the poorest and weakest in society, and in particular those who have it probably harder then the rest of society.
-
From what has been written to date it was the Governing Body who made the decision to close and the Council were not involved although it appears they were involved in the consultation. Yas - is that the correct state of affairs?

BHS, Jones and Higgins, C&A twice, M&S, Woolworths, Dunn & Co, The bag shop, Times Furnishings, The tobaconist on the corner of Rye Lane and Blenhiem Grove, Sainsbury's (the original which is now a Clarks outlet store), the Deli underneath the station arch, the hot chicken shop at the front of the station, the bakes/doughnut shop on Rye Lane, Finefare, the original small Tesco at the Heaton Arms end of Rye Lane.

I'm missing Monica and the "kitchen skills test". At times John's facial expressions on last nights programme said everything about some of the dishes he was presented to taste. It is really sad to see James Martin finishing up on Saturday Kitchen and quite surprised the BBC are "re-employing" Michel Roux Jr after the spat about him promoting Albert Bartlett potatoes that had him taken off from presenting Masterchef The Professionals.

Foxy, thanks for recounting the story about Peckham BHS during the war, do you have any other stories you can share with EDF.
-
BHS are likely to shrink in size so fewer branches in an attempt to reduce rental payments they pay annually. Would have thought a company of that size would have owned the freeholds. So fewer stores, needing fewer staff with potentially a reduced range of stock.

Firstly I was not bullying you, secondly there was no character assassination and thirdly I was trying to help you which you clearly did not appreciate by way of your post at 2.29. So you reported me, oh I'm so afraid...........NOT. And I'm waiting for Admin to warn me, ban me or do whatever they want to me.
