McClaren is a loser, should never ever have been appointed. We all knew it would end in tears (or in his case a big pay off). Hope Benitez turns it around for them. Would be deeply sad to see such a great club drop into the Championship, but then with Ashley holding the purse strings, anything is possible.

Benitez appointed as Newcastle Manger is going to make the last 10 games of the season really interesting at the bottom of the Premier League to see who survives and who gets relegated. The bottom eight teams could all be in the dog fight.

That's why so many tourists come here to use OUR NHS system.

Dumb and dumber - sums up the yanks and USA totally. Personally i'd deport the lot of them, revoke all visa's and ban all american imports, products and services. Starting with McDonalds and KFC. The UK has the best Government, legal, judicial and health systems in the world.

Forest Hill Road Practice - in Meltdown ?
dbboy replied to George Orwell's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The receptionists act as "Gate Keepers" once penetrated it is easier to get what you want. I went in December last year and was told no appointments with the nurse till all the Flu jabs had been dispensed. This is a totally ridiculous way to be running a practice. The purpose of the practice is to service the health needs of the community. Clearly they are failing in their duty to meet this overarching requirement of providing a health service to patients that is funded via the NHS contract they hold. Perhaps the contract needs to be withdrawn and new management installed to run the practice as a going concern. -
Southwark Plans for Camberwell Old & New Cemeteries.

Rather than the cemetery protest group (CPG) continuously reposting the same information, it would be very constructive and much more helpful if they would answer the questions asked of them and which EDAus has summarised for them to make it easier. And please do not say that we can email you directly as their is a major issue of trust, particularly as EDF contributors do not know who in the CPG are responding and who in the CPG has access to the blanche cameron account. If this seems cynical it is because of a CPG members behaviour on here and other media sources that resulted in him being banned from EDF. -
Does anyone know why ALL food shops (supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers, bakers, fruit and greengrocers, takeaways and restaurants) are not compelled to clearly display their food hygiene rating (scores on the doors). http://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk/ I found out the other week the ratings of some of the shops on Forest Hill Road who only achieve a 2 rating, very, very poor.

Complain to the local CCG and if mo joy then CQC. -
From your experiences I'd ditch virgin pronto. I was on the virgin national service till December 2014 getting 2mb/s when they informed me the service was transferring to Talk Talk. I switched and went to the Post Office on their premium service (not fibre) and am pretty much continually getting 6mb/s which is sufficient for my needs and at ?8 + VAT per month is not a bad deal.

Southwark Plans for Camberwell Old & New Cemeteries.

EDAus Agreed, Why is the cemetery protest group; Inciting racial and religious burial discrimination? Trying to divide and rule the community? Attempting to pitch religious groups against each other? Wanting to deny residents the right to purchase a grave for a burial? Wanting to deny residents having burials in the three cemeteries in the borough? Trying to cause distress to those grieving the loss of their deceased loved ones? Tying to stop all burials in the cemeteries in the borough? Wanting to deny residents the right to bury their deceased relatives locally? What gives the cemetery protest group the right to attempt to dictate to the community what they want? Have the cemetery protest group not heard ?the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few? Why do you consider the level of so called 'debate' on here to be really poor and from some posters just plain rude, whichever 'side' people are on or none? Why do the cemetery protest group?s posts continually repeat the same information? Why do you think that relatives will not be willing to extend the lease of their graves to prevent mounding? How were 48,000 graves calculated that will be mounded over? EdAus, can you add these questions to the Blanche outstanding answers. -
With Uber you don't know if the driver is either registered or legal, always use a black cab. They are safe, reliable and know where they are going.

Rye Lane Post office in Peckham is facing closure - ACT NOW
dbboy replied to dbboy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I believe the post office in Rye lane is a Crown Office, so different from the retail shop Po's spoken about above. -

Can Admin set up a voting buttons system on discussion threads, so their can be some mechanism that allows participants a way of voting (like under Options in MS Outlook) so almost a local referendum can be completed. It would be really interesting to see this being available and also show the numbers, even better with little yes/no bar or pie chart graphs for and against different topics being discussed on here. I suppose the only proviso would be that you have to be registered on EDF for 12 months before you can participate and only one vote per user or username.

When I bought vinyl on mail order it was packaged in a "cardboard sleeve". This was the standard way of sending vinyl through the post system and it worked fine, so that's what I suggest you try. If you are not happy with that then you can do as Amazon do and use the cardboard sleeve method and put that in a box and send it, but it will be more expensive and you'll be paying to send a lot of empty space through the post. Preferred method is the first.

Rye Lane Post office in Peckham is facing closure - ACT NOW
dbboy replied to dbboy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I posted this as I only became aware after seeing the headline outside on a newsagents board otherwise I would not have known. I'll be honest and say that I rarely use this particular post office, however there must be hundreds if not thousand of people its closure will affect. Plus those staff who may loose their jobs. SO we need to try to save it from closing. I do not know how or if a group exists that is campaigning against the proposed closure, it is even more imperative that it remains open as it is a Crown Post Office, which I presume means it offers more services than a bulk standard post office, Please correct me if I am wrong about that. -
Go with the Post Office, probably one of the better suppliers and deals around. I switched to them from BT and prices are good, premium broadband gives about 6mbps which is sufficient and also cost wise good value.

It is not the increase in the cost of the water that is worrying but rather the substantial service charge and form memory I think it was about 33% increase (but I nay be wriong on teh figure) in disposal of used water (sewage)

Not directly in East Dulwichm but very much related to the area. The following is extracted from The South London Press Rye Lane Post office in Peckham is facing closure Friday, 4 March 2016 By Jack Dixon in Local People PLANS to axe another post office branch have been revealed ? only days after campaigners staged a protest against cutbacks. Bosses are planning to permanently close the Rye Lane office in Peckham and open a downsized branch in the area. The branch manager and six counter staff have been told they will be offered the chance to move to another post office or apply for voluntary redundancy. The announcement follows protests against the proposed downgrading of the branch in Walworth Road last month, where 11 jobs are due to be lost. The Post Office hopes to reopen a smaller branch in the Rye Lane area and is seeking a retail partner to run the service. But a spokeswoman warned that if an agreement could not be reached there would be ?no alternative? but to close the branch. She said the building?s landlord was planning to redevelop the site and had made provision for the post office, but that finding temporary accommodation for up to a year would not be ?commercially viable?. Instead it is planning to close the branch and open a new sub-office but it is not yet clear which services would be offered or how many staff would be retained. Ian Ward, a national executive member for the Communications Workers Union (CWU), which represents Crown Post Office workers, said it was possible that the Rye Lane area could be left without any post office facilities at all. He said: ?The CWU is opposed to this closure and will be talking to Southwark council to see if we can find alternative premises. ?We will also be asking the Post Office to actively look for alternative sites and will make sure that they honour their commitment to find alternative roles for staff in the area.? A 12-week public consultation will be held before any final decisions are made about the future of the Rye Lane branch. There are five other branches within a 1.6-mile radius of Rye Lane which users would be advised to visit instead. She said: ?It is important to underline that customer habits are fast-changing and we have to continue to adapt. ?Our Crown network is under a lot of financial pressure and although the current landlord?s plans do include space for a post office branch, the space is smaller and would require us to vacate the premises for at least 12 months. ?It is not commercially viable for us to temporarily close or relocate a branch while we wait for the site to be developed.? The Post Office has been given an eviction date of May 6 but has asked for an extension of its current lease while the consultation takes place. A start date has not yet been set.

Watch out, watch out there's a troll = bully about My username is being trolled by Lewis Schaffer on his twitter account since I have expressed strong opinions against the scrubland protest groups proposals for COC. I thought trolling was illegal in the UK? Does anyone know what the consequences are for being a troll if you are not a UK citizen but residing in the UK?
