  1. "A friend who has lived in London many years gave me this advice: Take a pic of the suspected dodgy person on your phone and send it to a friend or your partner. Then if the worst is true and you are mugged for your phone etc, at least someone has a record of the person's face. Also, simply taking the pic might deter the person from approaching you. That's just some advice I was given. Thankfully I've never had to use said advice." This forum is getting nuttier and nuttier.

George74 - is that your IQ? This post is so ass-backwards dumb, I don't even know how to respond. OP :hope hubby ok and that they catch the crims soon. Well done to hubby on mashing one of their bikes - they got off lightly. Thanks for sane and sensible manner of posting, also. George74 take note.

This makes no sense. Voodoo logic.
  4. Whoa, why so harsh on TraceyLew guys?
  5. Lainey, your tone is offensive to the head, heart and nostril. Unchallenged, it would have made the rest of us look silly , insular and smug. Thank goodness this thread hasn't gone the way you expected.
  6. Charlottekb :Most people I know in the area go to the gym and are annoyed by it. " I see. They aren't the problem - its the OTHER people....

Cool phrase. Will be using it in future and claiming it as my own.

  9. What's with all these "Have You Seen Emily" posters ? Is she missing ? What's happened? Is it related to the Archdale incident ?
  10. James ,what is the name of the person in charge of refuse for southwark? I've tried calling on Friday and today (Saturday ) but noone (including the press office FFS!) seems to know. Once again hindmans road is festooned with general detritus - and the street cleaners have again fly tipped their own streets by leaving the blue street-bin bags out on the street overnight .The foxes have obliged by tearing them open and dragging the contents up and down our street. And the out of hours "service" tells me it won't be cleared til Monday. Nasty. I'm sending the pics to SLPress. This happens almost every week and it's fuc&@ngg annoying. How do I make a formal complaint about fly tipping?

Actually it would be kind of cool to see some of our more aspirational ED brethren/sistren combust in a green haze of envy! I vote for waitrose in Honor Oak Park!

I think people can get a bit fed up with imprecise, alarmist or speculative material posted on here..the sort of stuff needlessly leading to a heightened sense of public disquiet. I'm NOT saying that's the case with the OP here - but one need only consider the posts of p-glover on this thread (an intricate narrative with its own internal logic - based on thin air ) to see the dangers. Yes, perhaps folk on here should be more civil - but not everyone will hold their tongue when confronted by unsubstantiated speculation.
  13. It's been confirmed that the site will become a new Lidl Urban.
  14. So were there shots or not?
  15. Sticky traps. Pretty ghastly - but not as ghastly as the mice.
  16. It's official. The prize goes -appropriately enough - to Artful Dogger...even though the offending animal does not explode. But its the only invention that stops the shit AND deposits it on the owner's floor. East Dulwich salutes you.

Surely, you mean: "we can apply for or a licence review ...if there's evidence of malfeasance." You wouldn't want to appear to be prejudging matters, eh James? And re vexatiousness, I know of two perfectly respectable owners of respectable establishments, whose businesses have suffered because of petty and persistent"complaints" from s handful of vindictive ED scamps and divs. Respect.

  19. It's not as bad as people who write "alot" instead of "a lot". Jeez

Yes I can see how that would be annoying. Friendly staff and everything. I'm glad you taught that cheeky antipodean a lesson. Hopefully next time you'll be met with stoney faced, tight lipped, indifference when you order that Baileys. As only seems fitting.

  22. Tired, joyless uninspired. A lot of us will feel that reading your negativity here, Hugs. Jeez!
  23. Oh glad I'e found this thread - I've just started one in the lounge offering ?10,000 for the invention of a device which would detonate shitting dogs and and an extra 10K for a machine which would cause the shit to materialise instantly in the living room of the owner. Hopefully on the sofa.
  24. David A has nailed it. There's a distinct element of petit bourgeois dickishness creeping in around here. You know..the sort of folk who get an attack of the vapours at the sight of a moped on a pavement....or a working class person on the pavement, for that matter. Jeeez....
  25. Yes I'm there now
