Shadowfax [an East Dulwich band]
chichirara replied to macroban's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The more copies of a valuable single (or any collectable) you find the less they are worth! Keep them under your hat! Very sad story about the members of the band. -
I wish the council would come and sweep up the remains of the pollarding and the leaves and rubbish, Used to have a three times a week sweeper, the lovely Pete now no one, as far as I can see

Dangerous pavements in Upland Road
chichirara replied to manindulwichse22's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
That some guy with a stick! I'm presuming you mean the wonderful Pete our brilliant street cleaner. He used to do Barry Road then was moved to Upland Northcross, he works tirelessly keeping our pavements clean and always says Good Morning Lovely Lady Much Respect! and we should say MUCH RESPECT to him too!! -
A great local character Cyril Piper has sadly passed away. Part of the funeral prosession will drive down East Street Market where he traded for 30 years from the 60s to the 90s. If anyone who remembers him would like to say goodbye there they will leave East Dulwich 12.30 so should reach East st by 1.00 June 8th

Burglary on Barry Rd (May 29th)
chichirara replied to biancason's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Did you hear lots of commotion on Sunday night by any chance? We too live v near here and Saturday night had plants nicked( not nearly as bad I know)and last night heard lots of shouting, but not like the usual happy teenagers etc -
Just like to say how sad I am that someone pinched two plants from my front steps last night. Weirdly they chose one from the bottom step and one a few steps up, obviously keen gardener/thieves. Maybe they had been to Chelsea and got inspired. Well hope you look after them

Apart from the fact that the 3 private schools have been around for 200 years! No one deserves to be mugged. Although there were Highway men around then. Lord Byron went out on lookouts for them when he was at Dr Glennies School in Dulwich.
