The house on the corner of the Rye is up for sale -
I have ancestors who where in there, and Gordon Road, Black Prince Road and the one in Crystal Palace for children. Looking up the records of these places gives you a really tragic picture of life and death amongst the poor.

Do you remember the white lady, and the singing dancing lady who ran the charity shop. What about the junk shops, Johns, Thistles and the one on CPR........

Beware the allotments.........
chichirara replied to Crystal Tips's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I had this happen on my allotment. Gun site on Grange Lane, but two years ago. A bunch of kids hahging around, so I thought I would be friendly instead of being anti young people. They distracted me, took my bag and raided my car, which I left unlocked. I knew where they went to school as they told me!. So reported it there. If your plot is on Grange Lane like mine, take care at lunch times -
Bring back our lovely street sweeper. About 6 months ago we noticed that our road was really messy. Previously we had been blessed with the best sweeper in town. Then he was gone moved to LL. Now rarely do I see a person with a picky up thing and no sweeping. I called southwark to ask what was happening. A little flurry of activity and now sporadic again. I dont blame the litter people . The council have obviously had some wierd new policy implemented Sorry feeling v ranty today!
