  1. It's because of this that the jump from far left to far right isn't as difficult as most people assume. The Alt-Right crowd of Brendan O'Neil, Claire Fox et al were once revolutionary Trots/Marxists. Even our resident racist has followed a similar path...
  2. Week 9 fixtures... Saturday 21st November Newcastle United v Chelsea Aston Villa v Brighton & Hove Albion Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Manchester United v West Bromwich Albion Sunday 22nd November Fulham v Everton Sheffield United v West Ham United Leeds United v Arsenal Liverpool v Leicester City Monday 23rd November Burnley v Crystal Palace Wolverhampton Wanderers v Southampton
  3. That Phil Foden article was used by Raheem Sterling to highlight how differently the Mail portrayed him and Foden both buying their Mum an expensive house. Foden was portrayed positively, while Sterling was portrayed negatively. Both wealthy young footballers who could afford to do it, only difference being their ethnicity. I'll give the Mail the benefit of the doubt (yeah, I know) that their criticism of Rashford wasn't based on ehnicity, but there's no disputing that articles like that knowingly send a dogwhistle to racists to spout their bile, as witnessed above...
  4. Since our resident racist doesn't understand the meaning of hypocrisy, here's an example from the same newspaper, another article about a wealthy young footballer doing the sensible and right thing and buying property to protect his and his family's future. The difference being this is portrayed as a positive thing whereas Rashford's isn't. I wonder why?... Yet more hypocrisy, the same newspaper has run positive articles on another, now retired, footballer, Robbie Fowler, who has built up a property empire to such an extent he ended up in the top 100 Rich List, and runs courses at circa ?1k a head to learn how he did it. Clue, he's a wealthy ex-footballer. A reminder, Jonathan Harmsworth, 4th Viscount Rothermere and billionaire owner of The Daily Mail, pays no UK tax whatsoever because he channels his money through offshore accounts. Here's one of his weekend boltholes...
  5. And what was in the box? Apparently he works at 70 Whitehall, so it wasn't his mug, some stash from the stationary cupboard, or his signed photo of Darth Vader...
  6. Unsurprisingly we're getting conflicting accounts of what led up to Cummings' walk-out, difficult to decide who's telling the truth when both are pathological liars. Cummings leaving by the front door is interesting though, there are more private ways to leave No. 10, so he obviously wanted to be seen and seems to be gearing up for a public spat with Johnson, get stocking-up on the popcorn! This 'leaving' video has some scarily apt music...
  7. Yep, his presser was bizzaro central, meanwhile his hangers-on are taking the Emperor's New Clothes to a new level, fully expect them to continue with some kind of 'virtual presidency' once Biden takes office...
  8. No 10 source say No 10 source has resigned. Too late, damage is done and there's more on the way, yet he gets to slope off while the rest of us pick up the pieces of his political anarchy games...
  9. You've only got to look at Yaxley-Lennon's flash house, car, foreign holidays and new set of teeth to see where the 'fighting fund' donations go. Lawrence Fox is a posher version of the same grift, plenty of mugs will doff their caps and fall for it, again. Trump is skint, his campaign run out of money, had to pull TV ads in the closing weeks, even the legal team he's now using aren't the expected litigation big hitters. He'll also need money for upcoming legal bills...his defence team. :)

  12. If you've been forced to work from home e.g. due to Covid, you can claim a rebate, not worth getting an accountant in, do it yourself... https://www.gov.uk/tax-relief-for-employees/working-at-home However, if you've freely decided to go self-employed working from home in the long-term, then getting an accountant to do your tax return would make sense...

  15. If any of you have already seen that video of Trump's 'spiritual advisor' praying for an 11th hour Trump victory, here it is given the Eminem treatment avec nodding cat...Awesome! :)

  17. 'Mr Taylor' has gone from bemused middle-class angst parent to class war warrior in a matter of weeks...:)
  18. One hopes that these lockdowns aren't a long-term thing, that eventually a vaccine, if not providing total immunity, then at least boosting our immune system to make it harder to catch, coupled with better treatments for those that do. So, if that's the case, what's in it for Farage? I can't help think the whole thing just stinks of political opportunism, a vanity project for someone who since Brexit has become politically obsolete. The danger is the media will pander to him again like they did over Brexit, give him the oxygen of publicity he craves. Instead they need to ask him to back up his arguments for not having a lockdown, ask to see the economic and science-based evidence. And what other policies will this new party have, or is it just a single-issue protest group designed to spook the Tories? Also, the demographic that he had the most support from over Brexit i.e. the over 65s are the most at risk from Covid, and they are the most in favour of a lockdown according to a recent poll (I think it was YouGov). Conversely, the demographic most anti-lockdown i.e. the 18-24s are strongly opposed to Brexit, and Farage himself is deeply unpopular with them. So it's not a straightforward transfer of allegiance from Brexit to anti-lockdown, and something's got to give if he's to get to the level of support he had over Brexit. There's also the sweet irony in that he helped remove the one platform that gave him some political legitimacy, i.e. the European Parliament. It will be much harder for him to get a foothold in the UK's first past the post system, but I suspect he knows all this. Once a narcissistic twat...
  19. Trump wouldn't have got away with what he has without the complicity and duplicity of the Republican Party. If Trump loses they've all got some serious soul-searching to do...

  21. Could be a record-breaking turnout, huge polling queues, might as well enjoy the wait...:)
  22. Where to begin? We're at the stage where Johnson needs to go and we have a Gov of National Unity. The current Tory party is incapable of governing on its own, it's purged what decent experienced politicians it had over Brexit, and we're now left with a cabinet of the all the talentless. And a reminder that in less than 9 weeks we exit the Brexit transition period, a time set aside for Gov and business to get everything ready for being outside the single market and the economic hit to the economy that will entail on top of the Covid costs, yet business still doesn't know what this 'oven-ready' deal will finally look like. A refusal to extend this period during a global pandemic is tantamount to gross negligence, a complete lack of duty of care to the well-being of this country and it's citizens...
  23. If you can't drive or don't want to rent a self-drive van as suggested, try Little Green Van & Man, they provided a very good, friendly service a few years back, cost was competitive at the time, ideal for smallish loads... https://lgvanman.com/
