  1. Didn't Spurs go on a long run of not winning a game every time Bale played, when he first signed for them?...
  2. Did anyone else try and pronounce grovevale in an Italian accent?...:)
  3. Yep, hence the reference to dogging...
  4. I'm guessing the thinking behind disposables is that they think customers won't want to drink/eat from crockery/cutlery that someone else has used, despite then being washed after use...
  5. Sex banned indoors for Tier 2 couples living apart, No 10 confirms At least Artful will be pleased, dogging is still legal under Tier 2 rules...
  6. I heard a travel report yesterday morning saying there was a traffic problem with LL, but it didn't mention specifics. The report this morning said there were still ongoing issues on LL and specifically mentioned the mains leak, so I'm assuming they're linked...
  7. Spoiler alert! :)...

  10. Most normal, rational people don't expect a Gov to get 'this global pandemic right', but there are degrees of getting things right/wrong... Some countries have dealt well with suppression of the virus. Some countries have dealt quite well with the economic fall out. Some countries have focused well on longer term planning. Some have done well on all 3. Most have done well on one. U.K. government has failed on all 3
  11. Depends whether you're testing your eyesight or not...

This seems to be the very > thing the government are now ignoring. Because of the exponential nature of virus growth, data has shown that Johnson's dithering and delaying the initial lockdown by a week, doubled the number of deaths. Yet despite SAGE's advice, here we are again...
  13. It's merely delaying the inevitable. We shouldn't be surprised, we have a Gov that's puts it's head in the sand over the complexities and realities of Brexit, so don't expect it to behave differently, it's the Covid equivalent of kicking the can down the road...
  14. Week 5 fixtures... Saturday 17th October Everton v Liverpool Chelsea v Southampton Manchester City v Arsenal Newcastle United v Manchester United Sunday 18th October Sheffield United v Fulham Crystal Palace v Brighton & Hove Albion Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United Leicester City v Aston Villa Monday 19th October West Bromwich Albion v Burnley Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers
  15. The so-called 'libertarian right' have a strange mindset, on the one hand with Covid they say they want to protect the economy knowing that entails the risk of more people dying, yet they also tend to defend Brexit, including No Deal, and are happy to trash the economy for 'sovereignty'. The LSE recently released an analysis that said No Deal would damage the economy in the long term, 2-3 times worse than Covid...
  16. Does your Mum use a formal contract?...
  17. Googling 'ancient stone pulley' doesn't throw up much beyond what the Egyptians used to build the pyramids, which makes sense with the loads they were shifting. For less strenuous lifting work it does seem a lot of effort to make a pulley from a lump of stone when it would've been much easier to do it in timber, which are far more common. I'm starting to think it's more likely to be the base of a decorative column...
  18. You could try asking your local chippy what they do, and if legit, would they mind if you dropped off your oil with their waste. Ditto the local Indian restaurants who you seem to be on good terms with. As an aside, has anyone else noticed that food caddy waste is thrown into the garden waste bins when they they empty the bins, which is exactly what we did before the council said we had to have separate bins and spent ???? on distributing the food caddies...
  19. The landlord has allowed the tenant to break the contract early, and also leave with just 2 week's notice, standard is a month (assuming an AST was signed). Hardly strikes me as a mean-spirited person. Again, using the hotel analogy, should a hotel let a room out for free just because they don't have another guest lined up the next day?...
  20. Tell you friend to try staying in a hotel for a day longer than she originally booked for without paying anything extra and see what happens...:)
  21. The weather's not helping but this feels like one of the grimmest days since the initial lockdown, and this time no exit strategy whatsoever. The majority of the country made sacrifices in order to protect the NHS from being overwhelmed and to buy time for an efficient test and trace system, and there's absolutely nothing to show for it except a clown car of a Government making it up as they go along. There's not even a tunnel in sight let alone a light at the end of it...
  22. Shouldn't your architect be advising you about this?...
