  1. Joe, good to hear from you. Have also replied to your PM. I was wondering about setting up some regular early morning weekly group runs. It would need to be early, say 6.30, and run 2 laps of Peckham Rye - about 30 minutes or so. We could meet on the bit of park opposite the Clockhouse / Roy Brooks. Are there other people who'd be interested in hooking up?
  2. Sounds good, definitely coming along on 10th Feb.
  3. Jamie, I run fairly regularly round the Rye and sometimes some longer routes. I'll send you a private message via the forum.
  4. According to this news story on the DHFC website... Do many children go? I was wondering about taking my son along.
  5. Only been once so far, very good experience all round. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/25/58195753_7d013bc13e_m.jpg Good cheese board and a great shiraz. Will definitely go back, especially now Kate has taken the time to explain what it's about. Thumbs up to Kate and to Mark for setting up the forum so this conversation could happen :-) Imagine what it would be like if everyone just talked things through like this everywhere...
  6. A sculpture of a buggy to replace the rusty old lamp-post in Goose Green roundabout ;-)
  7. nutty, check out this earlier discussion called "Italian restaurants (lack thereof)"
  8. A little googling led me to this page about Felbridge House and this map. What happened to it?
  9. Sadly there was a fatal accident at this junction yesterday evening. According to this story in thisislondon.co.uk
  10. For more photos, check out the East Dulwich photo pool on Flickr And a whole load more Flickr photos tagged East Dulwich
  11. Good grief! Sometimes it's like the Jerry Springer show round here ;-)
  12. They've turned the garden in to Teletubbyland :-) http://static.flickr.com/87/239110571_e58778be1c_m.jpg
  13. Mark, have you considered subsidising the site with google ads or similar? Once you'd covered your costs, if you're not in to making profit, we could collectively choose a local cause/charity every x months to which the proceeds could be given.
  14. Off topic, but relevant to this conversation's history. Some friendly advice to anyone who edits their messages after posting them... If, like me, you subscribe to the RSS feed [wikipedia definition of RSS here] for the East Dulwich Forum, you'll see each version your newsreader (bloglines in my case) grabs - which means you can see what's changed in edited messages. I think this is quite right and isn't technically wrong, because for a brief moment it's a message in public. Worth remembering... :-)
  15. I agree Bruce, it's pretty hazardous. For a while there used to be a car ambulance parked up on the corner of the Rye - I wasn't sure whether it was there as a deterrent or because there are regular accidents on the junction or both. There's no right filter to turn South on to Peckham Rye (which turns in to Forest Hill Road by the Herne Tavern/Dunstans Road as far as I know) so you often find people at the front of the queue turning right in front of oncoming traffic just as the lights turn green. I'd be more than happy to put my name on the petition. I'd also like to petition for better speed restriction on Peckham Rye, especially around the juntion with Dunstans Road. People drive like complete maniacs. I wonder how many of them are parents. Also, why is there no barrier or fence at the bottom of the downhill path coming out of Peckham Rye Park on to Peckham Rye Park opposite the Herne Tavern? It's madness - the amount of children who go hurtling down the path on foot or on bikes and there's nothing to stop them going straight on to the busy road which people drive way too fast on.
  16. Tim, let's just say the language is post-watershed no holds barred Their quiz get's a good couple of reviews here too
  17. Mark, 5 latest posts sounds good... as long as they're clickable :-)
  18. I'm beginning to wonder if the Chatter section is needed - given how much chatter there is everywhere else in the forum :-) Mark, what do you reckon?
  19. The Rye does the funniest pub quiz I've ever heard
  20. Hi Mark, great news many thanks! It works a treat in bloglines, so I imagine works in all other standard feed readers. BTW, I noticed that I can get a feed for the whole forum using www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/rss.php
  21. "Until a store has been signed off by our development team we cannot provide further details." Hmmm... so can the good folk at M&S tell us if it's waiting to be signed of by their development team?
