  1. what's the cost/benefit, it would be useful if Southwark detailed the revenue raised. More useful still if that was directed/ring-fenced within Peckham Rye area, but I realise that's optimistic.
  2. ate in there last night, and delighted to confirm its as superb as ever!
  3. also, and more importantly Cauliflowear, why are you so vile?
  4. Cauliflowerear Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I used to think Johnnies but they seem to put up > their prices every month, pure greed, hopefully > they go out of business. can't imagine why they would be putting up their prices monthly now?
  5. 37 ED to Brixton, I used to use this all the time, can't face sitting on it now, and presumably when Herne Hill 'improvements' enacted it will be even slower. Two consequences, no spend directed to local Brixton Market, restaurants/bars, plus if going into town, more often or not get an uber - so that's not terrible good is it!
  6. Labour flyer through the door (Goose Green Ward) this week, appreciate that its not the full manifesto but no mention of LTN's - not exactly conviction politics is it? Nothing from the other parties (any of them). Not sure who is the least bad...
  7. In any other world taking money for a service when you have either no ability, or no intention of delivering that service is called fraud. So frustrating, and I have no confidence that anything currently in the sorting office will ever be delivered.

  9. LTN?s definitely altering my transport habits. I now never get the 37 to Brixton to then get the tube, too congested, too painful, too slow. What I have done is to make a conscious decision to only purchase pre 40 year old vehicles that are classed as classics and exempt from Ulez and Congestion charge. Someone once said for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction!

  11. DM me I found something of yours this am
  12. or is it 100% diverted from landfill? Perhaps it's that, but I think one leaves the centre thinking the situation may be better than in fact it really is?

This is a rather disappointing read, I'm sure I recall from previous visits to the Old Kent Rd centre, as will others, that the signage proudly claims 100% of the materials are recycled. Cllr Hamvas, it would be useful to understand whether this statement is true, or in fact another interpretation of the facts, perhaps you would be able to clarify for me please? Thanks
  14. 30 minutes today to go 0.9 miles though the village up 1/2 moon lane this afternoon. last sat, 40 minutes on the bus, prob 1.1 miles its not the public school run traffic LTN's have not caused traffic/congestion to evaporate its a complete f*****g mess this is now a thoroughly difficult and unpleasant place to live, sorry, but that's my experience. thanks
  15. As per most city noises during the night I find it rather comforting. Think dogs and kids can learn to live with it.
  16. Tet?
  17. moped, not motorbike (apparently)
  18. if money from endless and pointless consultations were used, plus the million odd quid from the DV junction works rendered obsolete by the closure and creation of Dulwich Square, Leeming may find the cost more palatable.
  19. 'fairest', by penalising those who can least afford to shoulder such a price increase - a wonderful if unintentional illustration of some of what is wrong in our society!
  20. had to go to Cumbria the other week, (actually in the end it was cancelled), 2 of us. Train tickets ?225 each! Each! then cab when we got there (each way as it was a rural venue) Cost to drive (Hybrid, will change to EV next year) prob c. ?50. What exactly should I do/have done given the cost differential? Believe me I have no desire to spend 6 hrs each way in a car (and much of that is getting out of SE22!). Nothing will really change unless there is an effective centrally subsidised public transport system. The conservative "for profit" approach is singularly inappropriate in many cases (as those whose energy providers are currently falling over are discovering).
  21. 1 child family, 3 bikes 1/2 a hangar, electric bikes, ?1.5K, can't see it myself. Great ideal, oh as a previous poster alluded: Gipsy Hill Herne Hill Dog Kennel Hill Champion Hill Tulse Hill One Tree Hill Forest Hill ?? we need solutions that work across our society
  22. I?m not sure many if any are making a profit. Sure most would be grateful to break even.
  23. rode my motorbike to and back from work today in the city. Have never seen so much potential carnage on the way home - three different cyclists running red lights, and nearly getting hit. Appalling behaviour, many racing as fast as possible, diving onto pavements, ignoring other road users and pedestrians. I cycle too, but really? The roads are a shared resource, and it would be good for everyone to remember that and moderate their behaviour accordingly.
  24. The cynics would suggest it?s driven by the fact the operator makes more money with it closed! It?s probably not as simple as that. Multiple ownership (Southwark, Lambeth, Bromley & Croydon?) mean there has consistently been a lack of consensus on the future of the site and it?s ongoing funding. There are proposals to sell off part (of the park) for housing. It?s a desperate shame, whether you like the architecture or not the entire centre is very well used from the lowliest amateur seeking to improve their fitness right up to potential national and international athletes - a positive illustration of ?sport for all? A desporate shame the facility didn?t receive any of the 2012 games funding.
  25. trains to London Bridge halved trains to Crystal Palace, stopped entirely what is going on, I have seen nothing from either councillors or MP on these cuts. guess we are just supposed to suck it up
