Thanks very much to whoever scraped my car in College Rd this morning. You know you did it judging by the damage and white paint you left behind.

Great crowd too

Revised new - M&S planning application to replace Iceland..

James Land banking is a myth. Developers don't sit on land to capitalise on notional value increases, they build and more importantly sell, which enables further land purchases. -
Very bad last couple of days. Def oppose further airport expansion, do believe we need to make a bold choice and build a new airport in the estuary. That will win me some friends on here no doubt!

It's like Baltimore

agreed, pretty miserable bad tempered game, to let in the equaliser in the last few seconds was cruel too.

imagine what they'll do whilst the paint goes off?

Green food waste bags no longer free from Southwark Council
geh replied to Mrs TP's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
sorry but never been advised by southwark or anyone else that black plastic sacks are unacceptable in the green general waste bins. not sure using biodegradable bags are relevant to non sorted general waste. i am talking about green coloured bins not 'green' as in sorted, recyclable waste (ie brown and blue) -

what goes in the green bin 'general waste' if its not in a black sack it won't be collected and you get a note on the bin then? -

In fairness the council doesn't provide black plastic bin bags for us either. On balance now that everyone is used to the regime it makes sense. I think imho that we have a pretty good local authority. -
I know what you mean, I'd probably obsess about too, why don't you think about breaking up the lawn with some pavers laid in a curve which might knit the two sections together?

was out for me yesterday morning, back on in the evening after re-setting router. Some others too (see my thread moved to the Lounge) BT as usual denied any problems!

Anyone else down this morning (middle of LL)?
-
whist I disagreed with some of the initiatives (CPZ) I think in the main James has been a very good local councillor, and I suspect would have been the same as an MP. I hope this doesn't discourage him. g

the contractors may have over run, but hats off to them, they've been a cheery bunch! well done -
constant planes right now. It never used to be like this! I don't sleep with my windows closed I have them open. The sooner Boris is PM and builds the estuary airport the better!!

ed gifted w yet another wait for it.....ice cream shop
geh replied to cnn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
as Ken always used to say "Peckham Beach" so what more befitting shop than one selling ice cream? a perfect epitaph. -
Does this mean that Lordship Lane won't be filled with smoke all of the time?
-
Allways lots of children there with a great family atmosphere!

cheer him up with a lego Champion Hill stadium:

Don't really understand those who claim not to be able to find spaces. I live in the middle of it, even on the busiest of weekend there's allways a space within a road or two. Allways! Perhaps some people aren't very good at parking? This looks like a CPZ precursor, and having lived within several in London it's the last thing I would want to see in ED!
-
I wonder if they could have another bar outside too, maybe just the ales? That would take the pressure off.
-
certainly more money anyway, it is a pain!
