  1. Well for me it was down to the Harvester with the mother-in-law and Ms Reggie. All quite polite with no balls-ups. And you?
  2. i*Rate Thanks for the support Artwork by Jon Daniel http://www.facebook.com/jon.daniel66 And yes he was going for that Peter Blake tinge with Caine and Connery in mind.
  3. On a daily basis he took delight in humiliating whoever he considered a lesser human being. His former workmates partied for 3 days when he left to join RBS. He treated his colleagues like c*nts and for that alone he deserves to lose his knighthood...oh yes.
  4. Ah well a gust of wind would also affect his fall which is the part of the reason for the teardrop, to make allowances for wind. In a roundabout way Sherlock admits to the 'fake' tears with his speech to Watson on being a fake. He also needs to have Watson stand far away so that the gunman cannot see Watson and the prepared landing at the same time. Throwing his mobile down sends the message 'Im jumping now'(he doesn't want it in his pocket when he lands).
  5. Well its Ms Reggie and myself got it. Moffat hinted thus:True devotees will spot them (clues). THROUGH THEIR TEARS!!! What does Sherlock do that he never does....cry. Why does he cry...to create tears. You can see his tears fall...thus helping those down below to move the soft landing into place directly below him. Got it!
  6. Alcohol increases nicotine cravings...good news for tobacco companies. Nicotine inhibits the effects of alcohol, so you drink more...good news for the drinks industry. Smoking and drinking definitely go hand in hand!
  7. El Pibe...what about enjoying them? what happened on the enjoyment front?
  8. I think that if you really enjoy smoking you shouldnt stop. The question is: How much do you enjoy it? And one more question: How much might you enjoy not smoking?
  9. Mic Mac, sorry to hear about your Dad. Stopping smoking is a serious business even if it does boil down to 'self discipline'. The Allen Carr method, in my view, is excellent as it reframes smoking in a hundred different ways which hopefully the reader picks up on and finds it easy to quit, otherwise it's one big struggle. Huguenot... I have to take the client's words on face value (that they really wanted to stop) even if what you say is true. If I dont trust my client how could they trust me?
  10. ????,funnily enough I have used the same idea of holding a gun to the head to make the same point....with enough motivation anyone can stop smoking. On the reverse side of the argument,I would not accuse an unsuccessful client of lacking self discipline, especially when they have parted with a load of cash and are still smoking!
  11. As someone who makes his living out of helping people to stop smoking (and other issues) this thread is very interesting. I am curious if ???'s assumption that 'giving up smoking is easy when you really want to' is shared by others. Or are there others out there who really want to stop but struggle.
  12. A possible crumb of comfort.... if it was insured then the money could be spent on a new artist's work.
  13. loved the first two episodes then fell badly after that with the same joke again and again can hardly watch it now.
  14. Try this mixtape. Bestimix 73: Sly and Reggie (The Middle Class Sound System) by Bestimix on Mixcloud
  15. James I was looking at your latest leaflet that came through the door about LibDem exploits in Dulwich. It came across really snipey and gave the impression of being more interested in proving how much better LibDems are than Labour than calmly just getting on with the job. It wasnt a great advert for being grown up.
  16. I looked up Starbucks history and found it started in Seattle which had become "home to a thriving countercultural coffeehouse scene" in the early 80s. Didnt take long for Starbucks to be seen as a symbol of the exact opposite.
  17. Looks like most of Dulwich are gonna be up against the wall.
  18. When I visited the camp the other day they had a list of aims, about 12, written on a big bit of cardboard outside their media tent. Their website Occupylsx.org has no list of stated aims but does say this on their press page: "Occupy London ? part of the global movement for real democracy aiming to challenge social and economic injustice in the UK and beyond" Im not sure what 'real democracy' means but challenging social and economic injustice is a concept that many can understand.
  19. Loz, is there any way of finding out that their aims and objectives? And if a protest has not yet achieved its aims does that make it futile?
  20. Silverfox, go down there with your clipboard and get some information to share with us. Also how we can tell whether a protest is futile or not?
  21. This poster caught my eye for several reasons http://www.thesuburbanpirate.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/ImageGen.aspx_.jpeg http://www.thesuburbanpirate.com/wordpress/?p=965
