Child benefit has for our family been a very nice addition, in fact we have been putting it away for the last 10 years to help give the kids something at 18...how smug is that? Is it fair that child benefit is cut for higher earners...of course. The issue of fairness is coming up with public sector pensions, I can hear the squeals coming over the rooftops already.

Whatever hole I'm living in I prefer to like it and not call it a shithole. Its a deliberate form of optimism and positivity. Having said that, I do think East Dulwich is a 'good' place to live.

I had my car stereo nicked the other day and the guy at halfords said it would be ?30 to fit the new one. But I tried myself in the car park and got it working. If you are replacing a similar system then it seems quite obvious which wire goes where. Best of luck.

Huguenot What's your personal view on 'war for oil'. Do you think it was worth it? I mean do you have a bit of guilt (because you are implicit in war) or anger cause you didnt want war. As for sleeping easier at night, its more my anger that keeps me awake than my hypocrisy helping me to sleep.

Is it just me or have they revved up the rowing machine in the park. I came back from holiday and nearly croaked. Please tell me they have added some extra resistance and its not some decline in my faculties.
