  4. Keef Do consider getting an interface if you have a laptop so that your computer will be your recording machine and you will love it.
  5. I have copied this from my blog at the suburban pirate. The UK has just recovered from a festival of resistance to library cuts . With protests all around the country, library lovers have been making a well justified ?fuss and noise to try and save their local library. The Suburban Pirate now has evidence that there has been a scandal of mismanagement in the library system that overshadows the cuts made to library budgets. The Guardian has proved to be a firm ally to library lovers along with campaigners such as Alan Gibbons and Facebook pressure page Voices for the Library and Fight4libraries. It is clear now that libraries themselves have not been in safe hands and that our fire has been misdirected. The scandal ?comes ?to light in the form a mild mannered man talking in a set of videos on youtube. The videos show that we have all been sold down the river by mismanagement of our libraries and this is a national scandal. In this set of videos, Tim Coates a former head of Waterstones, carefully ?and openly explains how millions are being wasted on so called "back office" costs. These costs comprise a massive proportion of the library budget that is available to councils. The money wasted in this way overshadows the ?budget cuts that are currently being imposed. What were the councils doing? How could they stand by as they allowed such vast sums to be wasted and to propose cuts in services when alternatives were a phone call away in the form of the good advice from people like Tim Coates?

  9. We have just paid out for an aerial on the roof which after years of crap reception does the trick. We have signal booster now for sale.
  10. Southwark seems to be keeping its libraries open at the moment. Unlike Somerset and Suffolk who are losing more than half of theirs. We Love Libraries. We love Libraries by Sly and Reggie
  11. Done it. Time for a quick cry and then some porn and I'll be right as rain again.
  12. On the way back from Iceland I just saw an advert for Giggs our local gangster rapper on the side of a bus on an advert for House of Fraser. Wassgoingon?
  13. I like the way not much is going in that place. The occasional display and odd piece. Makes a change from trinkets made in China for bored/desperate/confused consumers. Even though selling crap seems the only way to keep the 'economy' going.
  14. Thank god for art if just to confuse/annoy.
  15. New thread about what Mark posted elsewhere...how did they fake this?
  16. The scary thing about suspicion is that once that thought is established then all manner of evidence comes along to back up that suspicion. It was the same with the 'dingo got my baby' case. Also the Ozzie outback murder. Both cases had loads of strange unanswered questions which will never be properly explained. Both defendants were unappealing, cold women. Sue I think your anger at the parents is increasing your suspicion.
  17. "The weirdest thing was seeing the Donkey's face through the net curtains." Now.........we want more of this kind of thing on the forum.
  18. "I grew up in a 17thC house in Sussex." That's a fact. Street Sweeper by Sly and Reggie
  19. Hey Louisiana, I'm not defending the guy. I'm pointing out that most limited companies are set up in order to reduce tax and that means not just the high flyers. And that most self_employed enjoy the luxury of setting off a good share of their income against expenses. In terms of tax evasion, we are all in this together...except those that aren't. The Suburban Pirate-taking moderation to the extreme
  20. Its easier to complain about other people's failings than to confront one's own. However I do agree that it's bloody annoying that these big tycoons and businesses find ways to shaft the system. But most people legally or illegally shaft the system to a greater or lesser extent. I have a limited company which was set up in order to pay less tax. And most self employed people, I guess, file expenses that stretch the truth. Somewhere in the middle of Toby Young and Billy Bragg
