  1. I second sun sense. We found this sun cream perfect after our daughter had really bad skin reactions to lots of other creams.
  2. Hi there, I live in West Dulwich, so not too far from CP.... Monday, Tues and Thurs are good for us. I have a little girl who is just over 2 and a boy of just over 1 year old.. keep me posted on your visits.
  3. do check where their stockists are... I think there is a shop in Battersea and catford . At least this way you could go and try before you buy.
  4. We got the likeabike for our 2 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it and has taken to riding it everywhere. As I have no experience of any other bike so I can;t comment on the other make of bike. I believe that the likeabikes do last well, a friend of ours has one that is 6 years old and it's still in full use on their third child. If you look on the likeabike website it will tell you about the materials used to bulid their bikes. I'm sure your son will enjoy whatever you buy for him....
  5. A friend of mine was hoping for a water birth at home and was in the throws of labour when the midwife noticed that the baby was breech...( this had not been picked up beforehand). She was rushed to hospital in great pain and she had to deliver the baby and did so with the help of an episiotomy and forceps...... I know that she said she wouldn't wish it upon anyone.... !! I'm not sure what hospital procedure is for breech/ natural births ?? After having two children my self one with episiotomy/forceps and one with no pain relief I would think it would be a NO NO for me..... OUCH !!!!
  6. When I worked with one family I usually got a small present off the children and a High end present off the parents....With other families it would be a voucher for my favourite shop.... It's obviously up to you but as a nanny I was always happy with whatever I got...
  7. SMILER... yes they are to stop the child from falling out of bed, and they are also very useful for keeping the duvet on. Also great for taking away on holiday or visiting friends/family where your child may have to sleep in a single bed.
  8. My daughter started at Dulwich Montessori nursery school, It's on College road. They can attend from 2 years of age. Might be worth putting on your list so you can compare.. They do have a web site.
  9. I have the dream tubes fitted onto a standard 3ft single bed. The tubes are inserted into a fitted sheet... so they should fit, not sure what size IKEA beds are. My daughter has slept so well in her new bed, she loves it.The dream tubes also help to keep the duvet on.
  10. I have just purchased the "dream tubes" from Amazon....dream tubes now on offer.. Our daughter who is just over two has just gone into a full size single, didn't see the point in wasting money on a small bed that she'd be uncomfortable in in a few years.
  11. Haha DULWICHMUM..... I could say the same about things that I have heard parents "gossiping " about as well... In front of me. Very awkward at times !!!
  12. In my experience of working as a nanny, the children that you care for are very well socialised. A good nanny is an active nanny, and making friends and setting up playdates with other children is paramount for the care of your charges. It's so nice for your children to have their friends to play over in their house and to have mini tea parties. And if you get a nanny who knows the local area then thats even better, they will already have a network of other nanny friends to meet up with.... Sorry, just giving you an insight from a nannies point of view.
  13. Having worked as a nanny for 10 years ( I'm now a SAHM) the cost in having an experienced, qualified, full time daily nanny would be from ?400-?500 NET a week . Most nannies will always talk in net for their weekly wages and a full day would be from 7.45/8am to 6/6.30 pm.... . With this cost you can sometimes agree 4 babysits a month or one late night if necessary. Most experienced nannies will not clean for you, you don't really have time looking after two children, but I always took responsibility for the children's rooms ,washing and cooking. Also, would you need to put them on your car insurance, petrol and parking permit if needed for the nannies own car ?? just an extra thought. I think the advantage of having a nanny works well for families that have two working parents especially in the winter months, no dragging the kids outside in the cold weather to go to the childminders and if the children are sick the nanny will be at home with them and you can have peace of mind that your children are safe in the home. Hope this helps.
  14. Hi ladies, with my first child I have a failed ventouse delivery which then resulted in an episiotomy and forceps delivery. I quite clearly remember being cut and it wasn't a pleasant experience at all.... I think I likened it to Edward scissorhands being down below at the time... I think I felt sort of normal after 5 mths, but I do remember the first few months being just awful.I found lots of long soaks in the bath helped. It couldn't have put me off too much as I was pregnant with my second child after 6 months and went on to have a drug free natural birth with only a small tear and a few stitches..... It will get better.
  15. I also saw the details in Forest Hill and called the number, that gentleman has now found his dog. Any news on the other lost dog ?
